Part 1. Introduction to Art Appreciation
Week 1
Day 1: Discussion and Activity
Lesson 1 What is Art: Introduction and Assumptions
Individual Activity: Recall-lesson.
Instructions: Remember a particular concept from the previously discussed topics, then teach the class about it for 3
minutes. The class then, will throw questions to probe the speaker’s learnings. The activity will automatically give
perfect 10 points of recitations to those who will volunteer and will be able to answer all questions.
Day 2: Discussion and Activity
Lesson 2 Art Appreciation: Creativity, Imagination, and Expression
Activity: Out of this Realm
Instructions: Choose any art expression. Imagine anything, person, place, animal, etc that is out of the real world.
Imagine something that doesn’t exist, then make the imagination alive through an artwork. The art may be one of
the following or not:
A. Visual Arts (Painting, drawing, doodle, etc)
B. Music (Singing, playing instruments, composing a song)
C. Performing Arts (drama, roleplay, dancing, monologue, etc)
D. Literary Arts (spoken poetry, poetry, novel, short story, etc)
Day 3 (LMS): Appreciating Art - FILM #1
Instructions: Watch the movie attached below. Afterwards, make an art critique using the questions below.
1. What is it about?
2. What is the purpose/message?
3. What is it made of?
4. What is its style/genre?
5. How good is it? Rate 1-10.
6. What do you like about it? What did you not like about it?
Week 2
