Abstract:

surveys, using a quantitative narrative analysis. It focuses on using people's stories and
experiences to answer the research questions they used their parking lot interview schedule,
focus group discussions, and key informant interviews to answer. The interviewers used a
questionnaire and at the same time record the activity for the interviewees to have their answers
detailed. The study aimed to understand and know the ways of life of a sikad-sikad driver.

1. INTRODUCTION:

The study recommends the desires and needs of the reckless drivers in Naval Biliran,

2. RELATED STUDY:

From March 10 to March 15, 2018, data were collected through systematic observations.

3.1 Research Tools:

To describe the orientation and aspirations of the skid drivers, the researchers used common
concepts in follow-up analyses, structured interview questions were then conducted to validate

These interviews were conducted with a small population of 20 Sikad-Sikad drivers. These Sikad
drivers are registered and residents in Naval Biliran, on the other hand, talk about the population

driving, and tourism-related training to grow their day-to-day income. Most pedicab drivers
sometime consider tourism as a source of income.

4. RESULTS:

We have successfully interviewed 20 sikad-sikad drivers and attached in this research are their
answers in the questionnaires. Most of the sikad-sikad drivers are male. The sikad-sikad drivers
we had interviewed mostly are in their 5-30 years of service. Their daily income ranges around
100-500 php maximum. Their educational attainment mostly is elementary level, we have some
in high school level, also college level and we had interviewed one who had never gone to
school. Most of the sikad-sikad drivers we interviewed have their operators and some operate
their own. The interview's main objective is to know why they end up being sikad-sikad drivers
and most of their answers are to support their family. Some answered that it is easier for them to
earn money 200-500 per day than to apply as government employees having a salary of 100-250
per day and by that they can sustain their family's needs.

6. CONCLUSIONS:

The ways of life of being a sikad-sikad driver are not easy. For the sikad-sikad drivers, it is one
of the fastest ways for them to earn, support their family's daily needs, and also they can send
their children to school. Being a sikad-sikad driver doesn't need educational attainment but not
all drivers end up being sikad-sikad drivers because they never finished their studies and as our
interview goes on, we encountered one of the sikad-sikad drivers who finished his studies as a
Marine Engineering. He ended up being a sikad-sikad driver because for him it is easier to earn
money than going to the office and have a minimum salary that can't sustain his family's needs.
Sikad-sikad drivers mostly enjoyed being a driver because for them it is that one thing who
helped them and their families. Also being a sikad-sikad driver has no age limit and anyone can
be a sikad-sikad driver.

7. Recommendation:

Based on the findings and conclusions of the study, the subsequent are recommendations young
sikad-sikad drivers known by Naval Biliran Province are going to be given attention by the
government, welfare cluster having to seem at the probabilities of ascension the economic
lifetime of the poor sikad-sikad drivers, and any analysis is being conducted on the survival
