My Service Learning Project

Part 1
The organization I chose is Hope For Paws. Their contact information is
3940 Laurel Canyon Blvd #140 Studio City, CA 91604, #(310)-880-1416. To visit
their page you can go to Hopeforpaws.org. Their mission statement is
“Hope For Paws is a 501c3 organization that rescues animals in the Los
Angeles area and beyond in an effort to end animal neglect, homelessness,
and abuse.” Their purpose as their mission statement mentions is to
provide help and end animal neglect, by providing many services like
veterinary care. This is their current logo.

Part 2
The reason I chose this organization is because am really passionate
about animal welfare and it’s sad to see these poor animals suffering in
the streets. These organizations try their best to provide as much help as
they can without any resources. Hope for Paws team will rescue animals
and provide veterinary care, they later transfer these animals to adoption
centers. After they create YouTube videos, make posts on Facebook to
educate the rest of the world on the importance of taking action to
support the cause and adopt instead of buy. It benefits our community
because it provides the help of removing these animals off the streets and
getting better homes for them. They also help control the increase of
street animals in LA. Hope For Paws doesn’t offer any volunteer
opportunities due to the situations being unpredictable during rescues,
but they do encourage to volunteer in the animal shelter they partner with.
The role I envision myself when beginning would be helping out by feeding
these animals, cleaning their cages, to then doing the actual rescues. What
I gain by volunteering would be, getting more experience with animals and
would prepare me to know the behavior of the animals. I would also like to
spend more time with these animals that may have never had a home or
physical contact with a person
