Dear Sir/Madam

My name is Nguyen Van ADuc Dung, a graduate student from Diplomatic Academy of
Vietnam holding an LLB majoring in International Law. The purpose of this Letter is to
convey my sincere desire to become a member of your esteemed LLM Program of [].

Due to the diligent efforts during my high school years, I successfully gained admission in the
Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, one of the most pretigious universities in Vietnam. Back to
the time in law school Throughout my tenure at the Academy, I received comprehensive
training in addressing legal matters on an international scaleI was trained to focus on legal
matters on an international level. Thanks to the combination of enthusiasm, dedication and
brilliance of the faculty's professors, lecturers and staffs, my four years in the university well-
equipped me with fundamental and concrete grounds of law, both in general and within the
realm of international law in general and international law in particular.
While my academic journey initially focused on international law, my personal interest
gradually shifted towards the field of private law. Thus, I determined to broaden
my knowledge of legal private fields. Recognizing the potency of self-learning in advancing
one's future, I actively engaged in various moot court competitions, such as CISG moot court,
FDI Law moot court and mediation competions. These experiences allowed me to enhance
my understanding of regulations governing global trade operations, including Laws of WTO
and the EU, International Dispute Resolution, and International Transaction.

Furthermore, due to an innate curiosity, I sought to explore emerging areas of law, delving
into subjects like cryptocurrency law, smart contracts, legal aspects of AI, and Fintech and so
on. The subjects taught during the LLB program touched upon various matters concerning the
set of regulations governing the operation of global trade, typically: Laws of WTO and the
EU; International Dispute Resolution; and International Transaction. In brief, my bachelor
degree turned me from a layman with no legal knowledge to a law graduate eagers to dig
deeper into this fascinating field of law. As a result, I chose to intensively research about legal
aspects of smart contracts domain name dispute in Vietnam as the theme for my bachelor
dissertation. In essence, my university journey has turned me from a novice with no legal
background to a law graduate eager to delve deeper into the intriguing and evolving field of
law.
Prior to my graduation, I undertook a challenging yet enlightening three-month full-time legal
internship with Dezan Shira Associates in Vietnam, focusing on Investment, Corporate, and
Labor law I had practice as a full-time legal intern for Dezan Shira Associates in Vietnam
regarding Invesment, Corporate and Labor law and was offered an official position. Those
months were tough but truly eye-opening as I was able to see legal matters from a very broad
approach: offering insights into the workings of investment activities in Vietnam, specifically
the intricate procedures involved in establishing the presence of foreign companies and
managing their labor force in the country.
However, the young me thought this was not enough and wished to pursue the more
understanding knowlegde of other legal fields of law such as construction, banking & finance,
etc., I decided to move totransitioned to LNT&Partners Law firm, assuming the role of a
young trainee associate , a leading firm in Vietnam, and become a young trainee associateas
an official personnel in one of the leading firms in Vietnam. In this capacity, I independently
handled low to medium-level cases and supported senior colleagues in handling high-value
and crucial cases. My involvement spanned diverse fields, including investment, construction,
and arbitration, providing me with exposure to emerging legal trends in metro projects and
renewable energy. A significant milestone in my journey was collaborating with senior
colleagues on a Chamber & Partners project focused on "Bankability in Renewable Energy
and the Express Railway and Metropoline Project." In brief, the collective experiences at both
Dezan Shira Associates and LNT&Partners have endowed me with invaluable insights for my
future career. The former instilled in me the professionalism required in a world-class law
firm, while the latter equipped me with leadership skills, a sense of responsibility, and the
opportunity to build a reputable career trajectory in a new direction. The journey I have
travelled blessed me with invaluable value for future career: Baker McKenzie taught me the
professionality of working for world-class law firm, VIAC bestowed upon me a broad vision
to approach disputes, DTD provided me with leadership and responsibility, and THT opened
the door to a new career path.
.
Those months were tough but truly eye-opening as I was able to see legal matters from a very
broad approach: as a neutral "arbitration" standpoint at VIAC, and as a party to the case at
DTD. After nine months at VIAC, I decided to focus on my consultation career by officially
serving full time for DTD when I was promoted from legal assistant to associate to lead a
team specializing legal issues with foreign element. Finally, as I decided to pursue further
study abroad, I made use of my last year to experience the life of an in-house counsel at THT
Development Company Limited - A Korean-invested company developing and operating a
real estate project in Hanoi. The journey I have travelled blessed me with invaluable value for
future career: Baker McKenzie taught me the professionality of working for world-class law
firm, VIAC bestowed upon me a broad vision to approach disputes, DTD provided me with
leadership and responsibility, and THT opened the door to a new career path.

Due to one year of practice [...], I clearly recognized the importance of this field of law to the
exponential integration of Vietnam into the global economy which is embodied by [...].
Therefore, in my view, both my academic background and career journey push me toward the
pursuit of a Master Degree in [...] at a foreign developed country to diversify my experience
and upgrade my knowledge. To realize that, for the past few years, I have been aggressively
researching for opportunity matching such direction. Unfortunately, due to the excessive
amount of choices and information, I was a bit lost at first. The confusion only came to an end
on the day I came across your LLM Program. The more in-sight I got, the bigger my interest
grew because of two main reasons. Firstly, the UK is one of the best environment to advance
one's career in law with a highly elite system and resources. Secondly, my personality tends to
find a cozy place where I will not be distracted from the main goals: to study and to
experience. Both of them harmonize seamlessly in your LLM Program, which generate an
irresistible attractiveness to me.From the time at university learning about International Trade
Law to years of practice in relevant sectors, I clearly recognized the importance of this field of
law to the exponential integration of Vietnam into the global economy which is embodied by
the signing of multiple new generation FTA. Therefore, in my view, both my academic
background and career journey push me toward the pursuit of a Master Degree in
International Trade Law at a foreign developed country to diversify my experience and
upgrade my knowledge. To realize that, for the past few years, I have been aggressively

Honestly, the journey toward chasing my dreams hasn't always been smooth because
numerous obstacles have diverted me from my path and dampened my passion. However, I've
come to realize that the key to success lies in consistency. Whether I make only a slight
improvement today, the cumulative effect of small steps, day by day, eventually yields returns
beyond my wildest imagination.
I aspire to dual roles as a lawyer and legal educator. As a lawyer, my mission is to safeguard
the legal rights and interests of individuals, organizations, and agencies, preserving the
independence of the judiciary. My dream has always been becoming a legal disseminator -
someone who spread the beauty and spirit of law to the vast majority of the community. As a
result, in a near future, I will return to Vietnam and take a few years of legal practice to not
only accumulate practical experience but also to try to attain financial independence status.
Simultaneously, as a legal educator, I aim to bridge the gap between legal complexities and
public understanding, nurturing a well-informed and empowered society in matters of law. In
practice, I intend to focus on a career in teaching and research within a university, ideally at
the institution where I completed my studies, and offer high-quality legal education to
students who are both enthusiastic and determined to learn.Afterward, I would concentrate on
a researching career which aims at providing high quality legal education for free to anyone
who is determined to learn. In order to achieve that goal, the academic knowledge and
experience provided by your LLM Program play a crucial role to build up the "high quality"
part of the legal education to be supplied. Furthermore, as I have a brief understanding of your
university's core value, I reckon that my future intent is in alignment with the belief you
enshrined, which means I could serve as an ambassador to spread your spirit over miles of
distance to Vietnam. To achieve this goal, the academic knowledge and experience provided
by your LLM Program play a pivotal role in establishing the "high quality" aspect of the legal
education I aspire to provide. Additionally, with a preliminary understanding of your
university's core values, I believe that my future intent aligns with the principles you uphold.
This alignment positions me to serve as an ambassador, spreading the university's spirit across
miles to Vietnam.

On the other hand, I am the kind of person willing to contribute to make the community
around me better one way or another. I would be more than happy to spend times doing pro
bono works, engaging in seminars to provide my view and support to people interested in
Vietnamese legal framework and practice, or participating in volunteer events to help the
needy.
Your kind consideration of my profile is highly appreciated. I am looking forward to the
chance to become a member of your LLM Program. Thank you for your precious time.

Warm regards
