STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

It gives me great pleasure to identify myself as Abdul Momin Rafi, a Bangladeshi national,
and I am very interested in applying for the Bachelor of Laws LLB(Hons) at The University
of Hertfordshire, which has a TEF gold rating. Problem-solving, power, and people. A legal
degree is an excellent way to learn about interpersonal interactions, research challenging issues,
and comprehend the many institutions that maintain our society working as a contemporary,
developing culture. With this degree, you may pursue a wide range of occupations and get in-
depth, in-demand understanding of how the modern legal system operates.

I completed my Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Exam in 2020 with a GPA of 4.33 out of
5, from Jawarbazar College, Jawa Bazar, Chhatak, Sunamganj. the result of which was made
public on January 30, 2021. Prior to enrolling in HSC, I earned a GPA of 4.39 out of 5 in my
Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Exam in 2018 from Paigaon Dipakkhik High School, Jawa
Bazar.

I will study about modern challenges in this course, including cybercrime, human rights, data
protection, and terrorism. For the duration of my degree, I will employ a cutting-edge flipped-
classroom format that enables me to hear lectures online from home before attending seminars
to discuss the topics in-depth with my teachers. It's an original strategy that allows me
flexibility, structure, and a constantly available online resource I can use from anywhere at any
time. I will be able to practice my legal knowledge in a mock Crown Court, learn in a beautiful
law building, and run my very own free legal clinic to help members of the community with
actual issues. I will get stuck into a huge range of co-curricular activities, and I will also future
proof my degree with skills and qualifications in areas like mooting, trial advocacy, and client
interviewing. I will be building a really strong foundation of legal knowledge and developing
professional skills that I will use throughout my law degree and beyond. I will explore Contract
Law, Tort Actions, Justice Matters, and Constitutional Principles of the UK and EU. Right
from the start of my degree, I will be assessed in our replica Crown Court as my present client
arguments in front of a judge. I will also future proof my degree with skills and qualifications
in areas like mooting, trial advocacy and client interviewing.

The University of Hertfordshire was my first option since it is a student-friendly university

with a website that I am convinced I would fall in love with after just one visit. The University
of Hertfordshire is ranked 69 in the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2018,
with a score of 75.5 for overall student satisfaction. The University of Hertfordshire was ranked
71st in the Times Higher Education 100 under 50 Universities 2015, a global rating of the best
100 world universities under 50 years old. According to the report Destination of Leavers from
Higher Education (2012–13), 93.2 percent of full-time, first-degree UK graduates are
employed or enrolled in further education within six months after graduation. In 2010, Times
Higher Education named it the Entrepreneurial University of the Year. The Complete
University Guide placed it 41st among UK universities in 2011, its highest regional position in
recent years.

When it comes to further education, I chose the United Kingdom because of its good reputation
and long history of providing high-quality education. According to the National Student
Survey, 84 percent of international students are satisfied with their learning experience in the
UK following graduation. The cost of education is lower than in other countries. There are
several opportunities for practical learning through direct connection with the international
studies system. Furthermore, a UK academic degree is highly valued globally. Studying here
is particularly advantageous due to the low cost of living and housing.

Everyone, including myself, is compelled to go back to my roots. After completing my degree

in the United Kingdom, I want to go back to my own country. As a recent graduate from the
UK, I intend to work for the Ministry of Legal as well as for law firms in Bangladesh like S
Hossain & Associates, BDLP, and others where I may develop over time. I want to be positive,
self-assured, and driven as I try to realize my goals, thus I want to be accepted into the Bachelor
of Laws LLB(Hons) program at the University of Hertfordshire.

I want to be accepted into this institution's Bachelor of Laws LLB(Hons) programme so that I
can be happy, confident, and motivated while I work to achieve my goals.

Kind Regards,
Abdul Momin Rafi
