Statement of Purpose

I am Sahib Ahmed Sikder from Bangladesh; hereby demonstrating my sincere inclination to

pursue my International Foundation Year in Business, Law and Social Studies from the
Leeds Beckett University.

I have completed my HSC in 2019 with GPA 2.33 out of 5.00 and SSC in 2017 with GPA
3.50 out of 4.00 in Humanities group from Sylhet Board. After I passed my Higher
secondary Examination I tried to get admitted in Public University in my home country
Bangladesh. But due to COVID 19 pandemic throughout year 2020 the admissions tests were
delayed and I could not get admitted in any universities in my home country. Since I had a
long cherished dream to study in abroad. I started to prepare myself for my UK higher
studies and prepared for UKVI IELTS. I took my IELTS exam in SEP 2021 and have scored
overall band 4.5.

I prefer this Business, Law and Social Studies degree after completion of my International
Foundation Year to fulfill my career aspiration. Through this course I can learn about the
Academic English Skill, Project Study, Core Mathematics for Business, Introduction to
Principles of Economics, Advanced Business Studies, Introduction to Financial Accounting
etc. I can also get the overall ideas of the business learning and the key principles of the
business and organisational setting as well. I will be introduced with the key aspects of Law
and the overall functions of Social Studies such as staffing, organising, planning, controlling,
directing and leading. I will also learn about the use of a range of resources and tools to
facilitate the smooth transition to the university. I can also develop my professional skills for
the industry works. The learners can be introduced with the theoretical and practical
experience involved in setting-up and running a business venture. There is a great opportunity
to learn about the business plan, finance, manage and operate their business ventures to create
superior value to the customers and in turn to ensure the achievement of the superior
performance. Moreover, I will learn about the English language, study and academic skills as
a result I can succeed in the undergraduate degree. It can also help me to build up my future
career once I become graduate. The significant fact is I can study a combination of core and
route-specific modules that focus on helping my skills most relevant to the degree I want to
study.
The British standard of Education is globally recognized and highly accepted around the
world. Therefore the UK is considered as the top most popular higher study destination. The
significant fact is the UK universities have an enriched history. The UK is also very well
equipped with the British higher study standard around the world. The smooth transportation
system is another favorable part for an international student at the same time. The multi
cultural support enticed me to prefer the UK rather than other country. The study cost is
affordable than the other countries. According to the British Council estimated information
nearly 38 % of Nobel Laureates comes from the UK. The accommodation cost is also very
reasonable for a student’s budget. Another interesting fact is, according to National Student
Survey 84% of international students are satisfied with the UK learning experience after study.
Another significant reason is the accommodation cost is also very reasonable for a student’s
budget.

Leeds Beckett University is ranked five out of five stars for Employability, Teaching and
Inclusiveness. This university has a enriched history during back to 1824. Leeds is a
multicultural city and home to 60000 students which is reflected in Leeds Beckett University’s
diverse community. In this university I can also avail the opportunity of sports facilities that
attract Olympic athletes. There is also a great opportunity to get the overall idea about the
state-of-the art business, finance, law, marketing and PR suites and modern studios for
fashion, architecture and art and design courses. So, considering all the aspects I choose this
university for my higher study.

I intend to return to my home country after completion of my course. After perusing my

International Foundation program I will progress to the undergraduate degree of Business,
Law and Social Studies at Leeds Beckett University. I would like to work for any recognized
multinational companies or fashion industries such as Ha-Meem Group. Beximco, Square
Fashions Limited, DBL Group as a Fashion brand management, Operations management or
Fashion business entrepreneurs where I will be able to elevate my career and I will get several
options in these multinational companies. I visualize myself as a high ranked Senior Manager
in any well recognized fashion industry in my home country.
