It is with great pleasure that I write to you today in support of Ms. Cassidy Leonardis’s
application for your teaching position. Ms. Leonardis completed her Bachelor of Science in
Special Education and Music in May 2023 and will be graduating in May 2024 from The College
of New Jersey with her Master of Arts in Teaching in Elementary & Special Education. I have
known her for almost five years as a valuable member in TCNJ’s choral and vocal programs. The
Chorale, in which Cassidy performs, is the College’s premiere choral ensemble and represents
TCNJ in public performances, often in collaboration with professional ensembles, throughout
the Mid-Atlantic region.
Ms. Leonardis is one of the hardest working and dedicated students I have worked with at TCNJ.
She is always prepared with her repertoire and eager to be challenged. Cassidy is also a skilled
vocalist. While at TCNJ, I have called upon her many times as a soloist in concert and for campus
events such as commencement. She is always reliable and performs with beauty and grace.
Beyond her work as a performer, I know Cassidy has distinguished herself with an outstanding
academic record in all her music and education classes at TCNJ. She is an enthusiastic student
and has contributed greatly to our Music Department community and the College at large.
I believe Ms. Leonardis is well-qualified to be teaching due to her talents, work ethic, and
discipline. She has excellent inter-personal skills, is articulate, thoughtful, encouraging, and
possesses a much-appreciated sense of humor that will serve her well both as a teacher and
colleague. I have no doubts that she will find much future success as an educator and
performer.
