➢ DRILL (15-20 Q’s): Now let’s practice the other meanings of
“to hold” expressed in the following phrases….
▪ To hold a meeting
▪ To hold elections
▪ To hold a conference
▪ To hold a press conference
▪ To hold a summit
Your students also learn that “to hold” can be “capacity”…they
learn the following questions…

● How many people does your car hold?

● How much memory does your phone
hold?
● How many kilos does your bag hold?
● How much water does this bottle hold?
● How much weight does this box hold?
● How much memory does your MP3 player
hold?
Now, even though these questions are correct, when we answer
this type of question we probably wouldn’t say “my phone holds
16 GB of memory”, the most likely thing is for someone to
answer with a short answer “16 GB”. Therefore, I recommend
4 MGP practicing the questions but keeping the answers short. 6-8 MIN
