Volunteer Experiences / Extra Curriculum Activity

During Covid-19 I volunteered my time at a local Food bank within Glasgow City Council that
gave out food and other necessary items to the elderly and their families. I would be in
charge of creating food bags and handing them out appropriately. I used a warm friendly
attitude when communicating with the community and also maintained a professional
manner throughout.
In addition to this, I also volunteered at my Mum’s hairdressing shop where I helped make
customers feel welcome by making them refreshments and making friendly conversation. I
also had responsibilities for keeping the shop clean and tidy by sweeping up and ensuring
health and safety measures were followed.
Previously I was part of a football club which I attended to meet new people whilst taking
part in my favourite sport. I attended weekly and took part in all the activities. This helped
build on my communication skills and helped boost my confidence.
