The students will arrange the following parts of a letter of application.

I am presently employed by a small computer company, but I am looking for a

more challenging position where my field of specialization may be used in a
more stimulating environment. As you will notice on my enclosed resume, the
job you are offering suits both my personal and professional interests

The class will be divided into ten (10) groups. Each group will be given a
different sample job posting, then they will read it carefully for them to identify the
following information.

1. Key qualifications and skills required for the position

2. Company culture and values (if mentioned)
3. Any specific instructions for the application process
After which, the students will collaborate on drafting an application letter for the
job posting, they analyzed and once the application letters are drafted, each group will
presents their letter to the rest of the participants.

4. Explain
The teacher together with the students will define “application letter” and discuss
its content.

Then, students will answer the questions below.

1. How do you convey enthusiasm and passion for the position in

the letter without sounding insincere?
2. How do you highlight your qualifications and experience
effectively in the body of the letter?

Concept Notes:
College Admission Letter is also known as the "letter of intent". It
is a brief discussion of your intention to be admitted in a specific course in
college.

Meanwhile, Employment Application Letter is widely known as

a "cover letter". It is used to introduce yourself to a prospective employer.
You write this to demonstrate your interest in the company, sell your services
and qualifications in written form, and show that you are fit for a job position.
It is usually submitted with a resume.
