PROPOSED BOTOLAN ACCESS AND INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT- DED

OF PHASE 1 & PHASE 2

(Botolan, Zambales)
METHODOLOGY FOR TOPOGRAPHIC SURVEY

Topographic survey shall be undertaken along the proposed road alignment and bridge site
including setting out and establishment at appropriate location of reference points for key controlling
points of the survey line and sufficient benchmarks for identification and use for subsequent engineering
surveys.

a. Research for Reference Points and benchmarks

Prior to mobilization, data on benchmarks within the proximity of the project area shall be
gathered from the Owner or Terp Asia Construction Corp.

b. Establishment of Control Points and GNSS Network

Survey Grade GPS SOKKIA, GSX2-GNSS receiver with an accuracy of plus/minus 10mm +1 ppm
with dual frequency shall be used in establishing the primary controls. All stations shall be tied
to existing Project control points (PRS 92 coordinate system) and benchmarks.

The importance of these controls is to ensure that the topographic surveys are in a true
position.

c. Horizontal and vertical Ground Control

The horizontal and vertical survey control shall be properly marked with concrete monuments
with nail or spike marker on center top and properly labeled with designated control name. Dual
frequency GPS shall be used in the observation of the position of the horizontal and vertical
survey control points (static).

Horizontal ground controls shall be established at or near an acceptable location within the
vicinity of the project . Previously established shall be made part of the project control.

Vertical control system shall be established for each entire project which will be connected and
referred to an established Project control points.

The topographic survey shall be done using GPS RTK instrument with reference to an established
survey controls as base station. Electronic SOKKIA Total Stations shall be used in areas where
GPS RTK may not be suitable.
d. Data Processing

Data obtained from the field shall be downloaded and processed using SOKKIA SDR mapping
and design software. GNSS receiver dependent data output shall be converted to receiver
independent exchange format (RINEX) data. Baseline and network adjustment shall be done to
minimize random errors.

The topographic data obtained from GPS observation shall be post processed using appropriate
GNSS processing software.

All processed topographic data shall be plotted using a computer aided design and drafting
(CADD) software.
