1.0 Introduction (Summary of the project)

When it comes to creative expression and artistic skill, the air-dry clay keychain project is
a fun endeavor that combines usefulness with individualized artistry. This entertaining and
interactive project encourages people to go on a creative and imaginative journey by creating
one-of-a-kind keychain designs that go beyond simple utility to become physical representations
of individuality and originality.

In addition to being a creative outlet, the air-dry clay keychain project relieves tension
and provides an opportunity to master fundamental crafting techniques. In addition, my group
and I advertised our activity on Instagram under the handle @diyk.eychain, which gives users a
virtual platform to share their works of art and engage with the community and it also acts as an
ebook guidelines for the participants to give them ideas on how to create the keychain using an
air-dry clay. Social media sites have a big impact on creating a feeling of community and inviting
more people to participate in the creative pleasure. It's a fantastic programme that fosters
personal expression while uniting people around the love of creating.

Working with air-dry clay is a craft that is ageless, enabling both experienced makers and
beginners to discover the pliable nature of this medium. The tactile aspect of the process gives
participants a physical connection to the creative journey as they shape, mold, and refine the
clay into custom keychain designs, adding an immersive element to the experience.

Participants discover a synthesis of art and usefulness as they explore the nuances of
the trade. Every keychain turns into a tiny canvas for personal expression, a modest yet
powerful reflection of each person's distinct artistic sensibility. Since air-dry clay doesn't require
complicated baking techniques, it provides accessibility and keeps the creative process
accessible to individuals of all ability levels.

Moreover, this activity's group component encourages a feeling of collective creativity.

Making keychains out of air-dry clay can be done alone as a peaceful solo project or in groups
with friends, family, or coworkers. Either way, it serves as a means of fostering relationships
through common creative exploration.
Participants in this creative activity not only create useful items but also open the door to
an unlimited universe of imagination. The final keychains, each a representation of the individual
creative process, are concrete mementos of the delight experienced in turning plain clay into
one-of-a-kind practical works of art. Making keychains out of air-dry clay, then, is an experience
that goes beyond the norm .
2.0 Process planning and preparation of the event and activities

For this activity, our group started planning by having group discussions for some
activities such as cake decoration, cake roulettes, heads up, and air dry clay, and we decided
and agreed that we would do an air dry clay keychain. Next is the preparation that we did, first
for the materials we bought through Shopee. The materials that we bought are clay and straps.
We use our money first to buy it, and after that, we collect the money from other groups, which is
why individuals need to pay RM 3. Next, instead of giving the prizes, we decided to give the
goodies because they will have extra clay and it will be considered a prize.

Next, before the event started, we did a short introduction to explain to them how the
event is conducted in class. After that, we give the materials to each group, and they have 10
minutes to make air-dried clay keychains. During the event, we monitored them to see if they
needed any help, and we also helped them make air-dry clay keychains. After all is done, we
draw conclusions to conclude our event.

Our organizing committee consists of Nithya Devi and Sheikh Harith as emcees,
Farhanah Edora and Tavitha as the goodies committee,Intan Nur Eliza and me, Ainnur
Adawiyah, as the registration committee, and Nur Aqillah as the photographer. For the
budgeting part, we have decided to collect RM3 for each student that joins our event. We also
decided to create a non-competitive activity, which means there is no competition amongst the
students, so that they will be able to relax and enjoy themselves instead of competing with each
other.

We organized a few online meetings to discuss our ideas and procedures before our
event started. Our meetings mostly focus on ideas about the arts from each member and which
items are appropriate to be used if the idea is chosen. Since this is a non-competitive activity, we
have not decided on any detailed set of rules and regulations for the students.

5.0 Rationale of activities conducted

The students participated in a thorough briefing conversation before the project began in
order to provide them all the information they needed, set expectations, and create a mutual
understanding of the criteria and goals of the project. They were also given a QR code for the
e-book on air dry clay, which contains detailed instructions and tips to improve their
understanding of the material and inspire imaginative experimentation with air dry clay projects.

We have chosen Diy Keychain Workshop as our event because students can benefit from
a DIY keychain lesson using air-dry clay since it fosters practical skills and encourages
hands-on creativity. Through the making of personalized and useful things like keychains, this
exciting exercise promotes creativity while also helping students to develop patience and
attention to detail. Other than that, this activity is also crucial for stress relief, which offers a
therapeutic outlet for students. It not only provides a break from academic pressures but also
allows students to express themselves artistically, promoting relaxation and a sense of
accomplishment.

Each of the groups were provided with a pack of air-dry clay, lotion (to soften the clay) and
some tools that were included in the pack to shape or add some details to their clay. Students
were also encouraged to create as many designs as they want and they are also able to keep
their creation as a souvenir for themselves. They also get to keep the extra unused air-dry clay
that we have provided.

We have created this activity to be a non-competitive activity which means it does not
require a competition among the students where students can foster an environment that is
open to all. It promotes teamwork, originality, and self-expression without the stress of
competing. This also helps students focus on their own personal development and enjoyment
rather than comparing themselves to their peers, and it also creates a healthy social climate and
boosts self-esteem.
6.0 Report on the event (Outcomes)

At the end of the activity, positive outcomes were achieved as the activity was conducted
successfully. The main reason that led us to conduct the DIY Keychain Workshop activity is to
provide students with an opportunity to unwind and get rid of their buildup stress, to enable
students to get a chance to practice and brush up on basic crafting skills, and also to overall just
have fun.

As can be seen in the pictures added above, participants took part in the activity with
absolute enthusiasm and started working on creating their own keychain using the materials
provided. This activity was also intended to be conducted without any competition-based
elements to ensure that participants could enjoy crafting the keychain without any pressure or
worries. This resulted in various colorful and creative keychains that were crafted from scratch
by the participants themselves. Some participants were so involved and developed an interest in
this activity that each of them came up with more than one keychain and even requested to
bring back the extra materials home to create more.

This shows that the objectives of our activity were achieved, and besides just ensuring
that participants would be able to learn basic crafting skills, this activity ended up gaining the
personal interest of the participants. Overall, positive feedback was received from the
participants, as they were all happy with their own keychain creations and since they were also
allowed to keep the keychains they created.
7.0 Conclusion

In conclusion, our group has chosen an air-dry clay activity to be conducted for our
Project 2 event. Air-dry clay activity is actually a water-based clay, and it will dry out or cure as
soon as the moisture evaporates. Compared to oil-based clays, this grade is far softer, and our
participants can easily work with its soft texture to create large forms or features in their design.
Thus, it can be gratifying and fun to work together to promote creativity and teamwork when we
engage in air-dry clay activities. Besides that, all the participants who joined our activity were
probably able to freely express their creativity during the air-dry clay activity since they can
choose any design they want to do and create. Also, this air-dry clay activity offered a medium
for personal expression, whether you were making sculptures, figurines, or other artistic pieces.
Engaging in this kind of artistic endeavors frequently has a healing and calming impact since we
can do the activity anytime especially when we’re bored or just need something to do when
we’re stressed out. Not just that, working with clay also gives our participants a chance to relax
and have fun while taking a break from our academic or structured tasks. Lastly, despite all the
difficulty or challenges that our group has faced, we still manage to achieve our objectives and
goals for our Project 2 event, we also get to create an enjoyable moment with all our
participants.
8.0 Reflection (Individual)

Nithya Devi A/P Kalaimani (012021070670)

The main goal that we had in mind before conducting the activity was to successfully
achieve all the objectives of the activity and, overall, ensure that everyone had a great time. In
order to achieve this, my group members and I had frequent discussions and meetings to make
sure that we had everything that we needed to conduct this activity and that everything was
properly organized. Being able to conduct this activity helped me learn and improve my
performance as an event organizer. Firstly, I learned that discussion is a very important element
prior to any events or activity, as it is the first step that helps to ensure the success of an activity.

Secondly, conducting this activity helped me improve my self-confidence as I was

required to brief the participants about the activity, which involved presenting about the activity in
front of the whole class. I strongly believe that this is an important thing that will be useful for me
throughout my education journey at MSU as well as in the future. Besides that, I have also
learned how to determine the budget for an event. For this activity, our group discussed the
expenses and income for the activity, which made me understand its significance when planning
an activity.

Overall, in this activity, I contributed by presenting the objectives of the activity, helping to
brief the participants about the activity, and lastly, concluding the activity. As the organizer of this
activity, I was also able to learn more about DIY keychains and the processes involved in them,
which personally piqued my interest as well. Last but not least, I would like to mention that the
success of this activity would never be possible without constant support and guidance from our
lecturer, as well as cooperation from my group members.
Nur Aqillah Aiman Binti Zulkiffle (012023070782)

We had our event at A0808 on 2nd January 2024, where we created a fun and
stress-relieving activity which is Diy Keychain Workshop. We have selected air dry clay as out
main component because it is typically easier for beginners to work with because it is softer and
more malleable than other clays, requires less preparation, and can be made without a lot of
skill. Additionally, it cures at room temperature, which cuts down on the total amount of time
needed to finish this project. Before the event started, we handed out a pack of air dry clays to
each group and did a bit of briefing on how to work with the clay. We also included an e-book for
the air dry clay designs which includes step-by-step tutorials to guide the students. I believe our
objective which to provide participants an opportunity to unwind and relax as students can be
stressed due to assignments, deadlines, projects are successfully met.

I think this activity is important to build our skills because this it provides a versatile
medium for artistic expression. Students can explore their creativity by conceptualizing and
bringing their ideas to life through this clay project. Other than that, as students work with the
malleable nature of air-dry clay, they encounter challenges that require problem-solving skills.
Figuring out how to achieve a specific shape or structure encourages critical thinking.

Compare to our previous project, I would say our communication skill as a group has
improved where we were able to distribute task properly, hear out each others opinion on which
activity suitable within the short amount of time given, and there’s no miscommunications or
misunderstandings throughtout the process. This project definitely helps me at developing
important teamwork abilities including problem-solving, time management, effective
communication, and collaboration.

Before the event, I helped our group to survey for the cheapest air dry clay and other
items through online and updated my group members on which one should we bought. I also
helped at creating the qr code for our air dry clay e-book to help guide students. We also
distributed our task where I did Adeela’s group budget part. I believe my contribution in this
activity was enough. During the event, I also helped distributing the items and helped students
to put and glued their keychain on. I may use the skills that I learned personal projects. I can
create unique gifts for friends and family or use my skills to enhance my living space with
handmade decorations. Other than that, I can also use my communication and teamwork skills
for my other project in the future to make sure that it run smoothly.
Ainnur Adawiyah Binti Kamsoor (012023092123)

What I achieve from this project is I have learned on how to do a diy keychain. This activity is
really fun and can relieve our stress. Other than that, creating a DIY keychain can be a
rewarding and personalized experience, allowing me to showcase my creativity and individual
style. It offers a unique accessory that can serve as a thoughtful gift or a practical item to keep
my keys organized. Additionally, crafting the keychain allows me to use materials that are
meaningful to me, making it a more sentimental and enjoyable accessory.

Other than that, this activity is important to build our skill development which is it can provide an
opportunity to enhance my crafting skills and learn new techniques, fostering a sense of
accomplishment. Next, it is also to make thoughtful and personalised gifts, showing the recipient
that I will invested time and effort into creating something special for them.
Farhanah Edora Bt Mohamed Kasturi (012022021547)

This DIY Air Dry keychain workshop was to complete all objectives while ensuring
that everyone had a good quality time. To do this event, our group members and I held meetings
via ZOOM and group chat in whatsapp and talks to ensure that everything was correctly
organized. First, I had an idea to make some cake decoration, but the budgeting it’s quite
expensive, and we changed to the ideas of one of our group members, Aqilah who is suggesting
the Air Dry Keychain, which is less budgeting. With this RM3, we used to buy the Air Dry clay,
super glue, and goodies (Candy, and paper bag). While, for the lotion I just used mine (unused
free lotion) to save our budget expenses. So, other participants can pay RM 3 only for
registration fees with low money expenses. Meanwhile, these activities assisted me in learning
and improving my performance as an event organizer by teaching me the value of creativity of
arts, communication between me and participants, teamwork between me and groupmates and
also thinking skills. In Addition, I have a few experience organizing the activities in my Facilitator,
so with these activities it’s helped me to sharpen my skills and experience in organizing the
activities programs.

On 2nd January 2024 (Tuesday), we had a Diy Keychain Workshop at A0808, where
we built a fun and stress-relieving activity utilizing air dry clay as the main component. This clay
is simpler for novices because it requires less preparation for us. Furthermore, it cures at room
temperature, minimizing the total time required to complete the project within our limit time which
is about 1 hour 30 minutes only. We gave each group a pack of air dry clays, keychain holder,
super glue, and lotion ( to make the clay more soft and easy to be shaped). We also included an
e-book with step-by-step tutorials (participants scan the QR code) for the air dry clay patterns to
help participants. Some of them also had referred to Google to create the shape they wanted.
After that, we introduced our group members to the participants and started the briefing
(Introduction, objective, and conclusion) and how to work with the clay before the event began.
Before that, we also created social media like Instagram to promote our activities to our friends
and others. Additionally, we give the extra Air Dry Clay to our participants to bring back home, so
they can try to create the keychain with their friends, siblings and others.

As our participants are students, they can become stressed owing to coursework,
upcoming final examinations, and final projects. So, this activity's goal was to provide
participants a chance to unwind and relax. This activity is beneficial for the development of skills
such as creativity of their imagination to create and thinking something from out of their box.
They also create bonding among participants, so they can create their DIY keychain while
chatting with other participants. If they didn’t know each other or just met for the first time, they
can create a new circle and become friends with the same new hobby. Also, our group
communication skills increased as a result of our ability to correctly distribute duties fairly, hear
each other's viewpoints ( such as accepting Aqila’s idea to change to DIY Air Dry keychain
ideas), and avoid miscommunications or misunderstandings throughout the pre, during, and
after activities. Moreover, I assisted our group in purchasing candy and paper bags for our
activity goodies bag before the event. I also took notes on all of the minutes of the meetings
because I am the secretary for these activities. Also on the day of activities, i’m also helped to
assist the participant through the activities. I and my group also joined to create the air dry
keychain with the participants.

In conclusion, making a DIY air-dry keychain serves as both a personal expression

and a communal endeavor, emphasizing the value of teamwork and critical thinking abilities.
Ideas and perspectives collide when crafting in a group, stimulating creativity through shared
insights. As individuals offer varied skills and ideas, collaborative problem-solving becomes
natural. This process strengthens interpersonal relationships and improves communication, both
of which are critical components of good teamwork. Furthermore, the act of making itself
necessitates critical thinking skills choosing colors, visualizing designs, and adapting to
unexpected problems. A simple DIY project is transformed into a dynamic, synergistic
experience by the combination of collaboration and cognitive skills. The finished air-dry keychain
becomes a collective masterpiece, symbolizing the harmonic balance of individual contributions
and collaborative ideas, as each participant contributes a distinctive touch to the creative
process. Last but not least, the most important part is Friendship, i have met and know new
friends such as my group members (Nithya, Aqilah, Harith, Tavitha, Ainnur, and Eliza), it’s such
a good memories to be remember back after these Co-Curriculum subject end for this semester
which i have found a good, lovely, sweet and tolerable friends even some of us from different
course and faculty, and we still can understand each other and did great teamwork and i hope
can be work together again in the future.
Sheikh Harith Din Bin Sheikh Noor Din ( 012021070659)

This Air Dry clay and cooperation from group members were instrumental in the activity's
success . The activity was helped by particular team members to eventually conduct it. During
choosing the ideas on which activity to conduct, we had several initial ideas. For example,
Farhanah gave an example of cake decoration for the activity. During the discussion and
meeting , I had given the pros and cons of conducting a cake decoration activity which was
highlighted on budget and transportation of the cake towards campus. Therefore we then have
decided to find a more simpler idea and budget affordable for the group members and also the
participants . During this event, I do notice the major contribution of each group member. We
have been more vocal and more punctual on meeting agenda. We do share more opinions on
material to choose before purchasing it. During the weekly task I also assist in their event
conclusion.

This activity not only enhances us as the organizer of time management but also
particularly enhances our Talking and Conducting Skill during the ongoing day of the event. I do
see a lot of changes toward being more confident when presenting our game idea towards the
participant and the lecturer. Before activity was conducted, me and Ainur explained briefly on
how to create the end product. I then distribute the goodies and also the cups and lotion which
eventually use to assist them in making the products. During the ongoing event I notice how our
team is more involved with participants by being a helping hand and giving a few examples. Our
team was more energized and more friendly with each group. We were more confident than
before due to the happy faces of our participants while creating their “unique and creative”
keychains design.

The most valuable lesson during this event was that we had fun joining exchanges ideas
with other groups , to mingle around and joining our own activity shows that being a “perfectly
structured idea” wont result in a satisfied end without having the confidence in “ Involved and
Friendly” team members. I would like to thank my members and my fellow lecturers for allowing
me to experience this lesson where I could also use it in the working world.
Tavitha Sambai Lamit (012023091960)

Using air-dry clay to conduct the class’s keychain-making activity has been a really gratifying
and educational experience. In addition to leading the participants through the technical parts of
the craft, I found myself seeing the transformational power of artistic expression and communal
engagement in my role as one of the organiser of this creative endeavour.

The participants' obvious excitement and curiosity was one of the activity's most noteworthy
features. Regardless of prior artistic expertise, everyone's creativity seemed to be sparked by
the tactile aspect of working with air-dry clay. The way the students embraced the chance to
form and shape the clay into distinctive keychain designs was evidence of the allure that
hands-on, artistic inquiry has for all people.

Creating a collaborative atmosphere enhanced the experience even further. As they celebrated
one another's creativity, traded ideas, and shared techniques, the participants developed a
sense of connection and camaraderie. It was encouraging to see the class come together as a
bunch of people celebrating the variety of each other's artistic creations, rather than just as
students participating in an activity.

Furthermore, the adaptability of air-dry clay turned out to be a great help in maintaining the
inclusiveness of the activity. Regardless of prior creative training, everyone was able to actively
engage due to the material's simplicity. A culture where the joy of creating was valued more than
attaining perfection was fostered by this democratisation of the creative process.

It became clear as the keychains took shape that each one was a distinct representation of the
person who made it. The practice gained additional significance when participants customized
the keychains by incorporating aspects of their interests, experiences, and personalities into
their designs. In addition to making the keychains priceless mementos, this personalisation
highlighted how crucial self-expression is to the creative process.

Looking back, leading the air-dry clay keychain-making exercise has been more than simply a
craft activity, it has also been a voyage of self-discovery for my group and the participants. It
reaffirmed the notion that art can be an effective means of establishing bonds, creating a feeling
of community, and releasing each person's limitless creative potential. Our approach to
upcoming creative workshops, which emphasize the transforming and uniting power of artistic
expression, will surely be influenced by this experience.

Intan Nur Eliza bt Zieni (012023091602)

On 2nd January 2024. Me and my group members conducted an activity called “Air-dry
clay activity” where we decided to do a physical activity that included arts in it and this activity
took place at A0808. Air-dry clay is something that you work with basically, a modeling clay that
doesn’t need to be baked or fired in a kiln in order for it to harden. Air-dry clay dries and sets
naturally over time when exposed to air, unlike traditional clay. Which requires high temperatures
to cure. Because of this, it’s a practical and easily obtainable material for a range of creative and
craft projects. A wide range of activities are available for participants to create sculptures,
figurines, ornaments, and other three-dimensional artworks using air-dry clay. Because of their
adaptability and simplicity of use, air-dry clay activities are popular in educational settings, art
classes and recreational workshops. People of all ages can enjoy these creative and skill
enhancing activities.
Besides that, our event goes very smoothly and because of that I am very grateful that
my group members are very kind and helpful towards each other. By having a really great
teammates that give good cooperation we manage to avoid any conflict or misunderstanding. I
also get to improve my skills in conducting an event and as a person who is growing up with
really bad social skills and having low self confidence, this kind of event or activity actually really
helps me to improve my social skills by talking to other participants while conducting the activity.
Working as a team also teaches me to pay attention to my leader and members so that we can
fulfill our individual responsibilities. In conclusion, I really hope all the participants enjoy our
activity because I really had fun doing this “air-dry clay” activity with all the participants.
