- read for a third time to look for grammar and punctuations

- annotate your essays:

- predicting - anticipating what the essay is about

- inferences - conclusion reached on the basis of evidence and reasoning

- questioning - your questions on a certain situation

- determining importance - noting specific details in a text, very important point, something you can use
to explain or defend a point

- tracking key vocabularies - noting important words on a text. figure out the meaning of the word based
on context

- summarizing - restate the meaning of the text through your own words, short sentences that are
straight to the point

- first and last paragraph are great spots to find the thesis

- read about the author and look at where they stand

- citation - number the paragraphs and use as citation ( authors name paragraph )
