Program Overview:
The Primary School SRH Program aims to provide age-appropriate and comprehensive SRH
education to students in a safe and inclusive environment. The program focuses on building
knowledge, promoting healthy attitudes, and developing essential life skills related to SRH. It
covers topics such as personal hygiene, body changes, puberty, healthy relationships, and
consent.

PROGRAM COMPONENTS

1. CLASSROOM-BASED EDUCATION
 Developing a tailored SRH curriculum for Primary Schools
 Age-appropriate lessons with engaging activities and visual aids.
 Interactive discussions and group work to encourage student participation.

Activities:

 Role-playing scenarios to practice assertive communication and decision-making.


 Small group discussions to explore personal experiences and questions.
 Drawing or poster-making activities to reinforce understanding of body changes.

2. MENSTRUAL HEALTH AND HYGIENE


 Educating students about menstruation, its purpose, and normalcy.
 Teaching proper menstrual hygiene practices.

Activities:

 Demonstrating how to use sanitary pads or menstrual cups.


 Providing sample hygiene kits and discussing their importance.
 Creating a comfortable and safe space for students to ask questions.

3. BODY CHANGES AND PUBERTY


 Explaining physical and emotional changes during puberty.
 Addressing common concerns and misconceptions.

Activities:

 Watching educational videos or animations on puberty.


 Group discussions to share experiences and feelings about puberty.
 Creating a puberty-themed artwork exhibition to celebrate individual journeys.
4. HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS AND CONSENT
 Promoting understanding of respectful and healthy relationships.
 Teaching the importance of consent and boundaries.

Activities:

 Role-playing scenarios to practice asking for consent.


 Group discussions on identifying and addressing unhealthy relationship dynamics.
 Creating a classroom "Respect Wall" with drawings or written statements about
healthy relationships.

5. PERSONAL HYGIENE AND HEALTHCARE


 Emphasizing the importance of personal hygiene for overall health.
 Teaching proper handwashing, dental care, and general cleanliness.

Activities:

 Demonstrating proper handwashing techniques and encouraging students to


practice.
 Creating hygiene kits with soap, toothbrushes, and other essentials for students to
take home.
 Organizing a hygiene fair with interactive stations for students to learn and practice
self-care skills.

6. PARENT ENGAGEMENT
 Conducting parent workshops to provide information and re sources.
 Facilitating open discussions on SRH topics and addressing concerns.

Activities:

 Organizing a "Parent-Child Dialogue" event to foster open communication and


understanding.
 Distributing informative pamphlets and resources on SRH for parents.
 Offering opportunities for parents to ask questions and seek guidance.

NB:

The activities mentioned above are suggestions and can be adapted or modified based on the
resources and preferences of different primary schools. It is important to consider cultural
sensitivities, local norms, and the age appropriateness of activities. Continuous evaluation and
feedback from students, teachers, and parents should be incorporated to ensure the
effectiveness and relevance of the program.
