Assessment of the Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices of Preschool Teachers in Los Baños
on Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) in Early Childhood Education (ECE)
Early childhood education is an important period for a child’s development. This refers to
the stage from birth up to eight years old. At this young age, the major development of the brain
happens thus the need to educate them. With a proper foundation, children will be able to
develop certain skills and abilities in the different domains such as cognitive, physical,
emotional, and social, that would help them in their life in the future. Thus, the main goal of
preschool is the competence of young children in dealing with life and their total development.
Teachers have a vital role in fulfilling this goal since they are one of the main decision makers on
what strategies and methods should be used inside the classroom.
This paper generally aims to assess the of knowledge, attitude and practices of teachers
from different preschools about developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood
education. Specifically, it aims to:
The possible sources of information of this paper will be gathered from secondary data of
literature regarding DAP and Early Childhood Education. For the presentation of the topic, the
following outline will be used:
Below is the visual view of the tasks that needs to be done before the final presentation
using a Gantt Chart. Until September 25, the topic will be finalized. Afterwards, for eight days,
the introduction, review of related literature and methodology are should be written. Then, for
six days, secondary data will be gathered from previous researches and literature. After this, it
will be analyzed and discussed in the paper and the remaining chapters of the paper will be
written in a total of 19 days. The paper should be finalized before the presentation on November
4, 2019.
