Practicum Week: Week 2
Date: September 8, 2023
Title: Lack of ideas to produce teaching aids and teaching techniques

1.0 Main issue

For this week the teaching and learning process can be carried out well as planned.
However, I lacked ideas to diversify teaching techniques and teaching aids in each topic
that is to be presented. This sometimes causes some of my pupils not to pay attention
during the lesson.

2.0 Analysis of the issue

To be honest, I found that there are still many shortcomings in me that still need a lot of
improvement. I sometimes do not understand the topic that I want to convey in depth to
the pupils causing a lack of steps and teaching techniques which need to be applied.
Sometimes, I do not think much longer about applying techniques that are appropriate
for my pupils cause sometimes techniques that are taught not so successfully delivered
well. Regardless, I will try experimenting with various other techniques to make the
lesson and more effective learning in the future.

3.0 Literature review

According to Charles Muling Libau and Ying Leh Ling (2020), auxiliary teaching materials
are needed to improve pupils' understanding of learning. Previous studies found the use
of teaching aids has a positive effect on the academic excellence of pupils and methods
of practical teaching. For teachers, strategies, methods, and teaching techniques will be
concrete and varied according to circumstances and situations. Lack of resources in
diversifying teaching aids makes it difficult for teachers to be effective facilitators during
the process of teaching and learning.

4.0 Ideas and solutions of the main issue / problem

In the future, I will make sure to deeply understand the topic that needs to be taught first.
I will also make more reliable source references so that each problem that arises can be
overcome to facilitate the teaching process and learning later. It is not too late for me to
improve the weakness that I have in making an effective teaching and learning session.
In the future I will try my best to find teaching techniques and make teaching aids which
are more suitable to be applied so that the teaching objectives are achieved and
everything else which is planned and implemented effectively.

5.0 Periods to solve the main issue / problem

I'm trying to get over this problem over the course of a week or so. This is to take the
time to consult more resources related to teaching aids and pedagogy in teaching and
improve the quality of lesson plan from time to time.

I will consult reliable sources and ask more questions to seniors and guidance teacher to
get interesting ideas and look for the 'wow factor' in carrying out my T&L activities.

impact in solving my problems face.

I am happy with the guidance I received. This is to some extent to help me identify
