Activity 6: Read Me!

Read an article from constantenergy.net about Conservation of Energy and answer
the guide questions based on the article.

Conserving energy is key to reducing our reliance on nonrenewable

resources, such as fossil fuels. So, one meaningful way to save energy is to use
environmentally friendly natural resources, such as harnessing renewable energy
sources, like solar and wind power, and conserving oil, gas, and coal. When we use
more efficient forms of energy, we reduce greenhouse gas emissions that contribute
to climate change. Energy conservation regulations often target these practices for
the benefit of the environment.
Conserving energy at home doesn’t have to be as complicated as investing in
solar panels or energy-efficient appliances, replacing lighting bulbs, and
heating/cooling systems. To conserve energy and save money on electricity bills, it
can be as simple as making sure to switch off lights or water when they’re not in
use.
Whether you make small changes in your day-to-day life or have the funds to
invest in a solar energy system for your home or corporation, both efforts to
conserve energy will positively impact you and our planet.

Guide Questions:
1. In what way can we save energy?
2. What are the benefits of energy conservation?
3. As a son/ daughter how can you help conserve energy at home and save our
green planet?
