Sustainable Agriculture, aiming to promote environmentally-friendly and socially-
responsible farming practices. Through the interventions, we emphasize the use of organic
farming methods, agroforestry, offseason fruits/vegetable cultivation, orchard
development and water conservation techniques. By adopting sustainable agriculture,
farmers can enhance soil fertility, conserve water resources, reduce chemical inputs, and
promote biodiversity. This approach not only benefits the environment by preserving
ecosystems and reducing pollution but also supports the community by improving food
security, increasing income generation, and fostering long-term agricultural sustainability.

Uttarakhand

The energy-based interventions promoted under the ‘Climate Change Theme’ are Biogas
Units, Solar powered domestic lights and clean drinking water tanks, Smokeless Stoves and
Water purifiers. The beneficiaries of specific activity are selected on the basis of factors such
as vulnerability index, asset holding, and consent from community.

The organization has adopted two revenue models in the Carbon Projects. One is the VER’s
retired for the Donor for specific period and post that period can be traded in the
international market for end users. The other is the VER’s for long term sustainability in which
carbon trading is done through end user cooperative established of various user groups
under the project. In this model, 70% of the revenue is directly passed to the beneficiaries
and 30% is utilized for the sustainability of the Cooperative.
