FAMILY DISASTER PREPAREDNESS PLAN:

A family disaster preparedness plan is essential for safeguarding the well-being of
individuals, ensuring effective communication, managing resources, and contributing to overall
community resilience during times of crisis.

- One hazard that can be observed in Cagayan de Oro City is the risk of flooding,
particularly during heavy rainfall or typhoon events. Cagayan de Oro City is prone to flooding
due to its geographical location near rivers and coastal areas, as well as its topography, which
includes low-lying areas susceptible to inundation.

II. (FAMILY NAME) DISASTER PREPAREDNESS PLAN

Disaster: We experienced Typhoon Sendong (Washi) way back in December 2011, it brought
heavy rainfall to Cagayan de Oro City, resulting in severe flooding. The flooding caused
extensive damage to homes, infrastructure, and livelihoods, leading to significant loss of life and
