This is my grandma Pauline and there are many reasons why I am proud of

the woman she is today. My grandma used to be on drugs bad when I was
younger up until I was in the 5th grade. My grandma decided she did not
like the life she was living and started going to church. When she went to
church she found herself in Jesus and now goes to church every sunday.
My grandma has not thought about or touched any type of drugs or alcohol
since she has been sober. My grandma is the happiest she's ever been
even after all the tough losses we’ve experienced and things we have been
through.
This is my mom Victoria and there are so many reasons to be proud of her.
My mother was on drugs most of her life and got sober in the middle of my
7th grade year. After my mom got clean we moved to Merced and that is
where our lives started to get better. My mom went back to school to
become a medical assistant and finished school. She got a good job and
worked there for about 3 years. She is now going back to school to be a
licensed clinical social worker and currently works at Merced County
Behavioral Health and Recovery Services.
I am very proud of myself for who I am today and all the changes and
obstacles it has taken me to be the person I am today. I used to get in
trouble all the time in and out of school. I got expelled 2 times once in
middle school and my sophomore year in high school. After I got expelled
the last time it really affected me and that's when I told myself I really need
to find a way to control my anger and temper. When I came back my Junior
year I joined the introduction to health class and I really liked it and saw it
as a way to push myself to be better cause I had to get a good grade and
not get in any trouble to be able to join the Medical Technology class my
senior year. Fast forward to now I am in the Med Tech class and I was the
first in both classes to finish the OSHA assessment and get my card
certificate. I am also basic life support (BLS) CPR certified. This class is
great for me because it will help me in the future when I go to school to
become a paramedic and a pediatric nurse. I will also be receiving a cord
when I graduate and a sticker on my diploma stating I finished the Medical
technology pathway.
