Objectives of the training course The COURSE aims to achieve the following objectives:
 To understand the interrelationship between human dignity,
equality, human rights and freedom from sexual
harassment;
 To recognise sexual harassment and the impact thereof,
and
 To ascertain the legal recourse for sexual harassment in
different contexts.

Specific outcomes of the course Understanding sexual harassment


 Must be able to know how sexual harassment happens,
core aspects of what constitutes sexual harassment, who
can be harassers and perpetrators.
Sexual harassment and the law
 Must be able to understand why sexual harassment is
unlawful and what the law says regarding reporting,
prevention of and responding to sexual harassment.
The consequences of sexual harassment
 Must be able to identify various consequences of sexual
harassment on different levels.
Strategies to end sexual harassment
 Must be able to take steps to end sexual harassment using
personal strategies and policy.

PART E: Guidelines

IN-HOUSE COURSES:
 All nominees will receive a course confirmation via e-mail; this correspondence will contain the relevant
course dates, venues and times.
 Once nominees are scheduled they must be prepared to attend the course on the prescribed dates as
indicated on the email.
 Nominees must be prepared to complete a pre-assessment, this is an assessment written before
attending the course. This may not be necessary for all courses.
 Staff will not be allowed to attend a course without having completed a training registration form and
have received a confirmation email.
 No individual can attend as substitute for another person without prior arrangement. A fully completed
and signed registration form for the new candidate should be submitted as well.

CANCELLATION- (Only apply to courses which do not have any cost implications)
 Once a nominee has been registered to attend a course, only their direct Manager can cancel or change
the nomination. This should be done in writing two days prior to the commencement of the course.
 Cancellations and/or changes must be done by completing the cancellation form and be signed by the
direct Manager.
 No staff member can attend as a replacement for another person unless it has been arranged by his
Supervisor/Manager with the relevant Facilitator and the training registration form for the candidate is
submitted and approved.

 Please ensure that your training registration form has been signed (by all relevant parties) and
completed in full before submitting it.
 All registration and cancellation forms should be submitted to the relevant training officer/administrator.
