The load intensities for the superimposed dead load shall be as follows:

Main Line Load (Twin

Description
Track)

Rail & Fixing 3.00 kN/m

Plinth on straight / curved track 25.00 kN/m

Electric Supply (Cable, Cable Trough etc.) 11.75 kN/m

Barriers (Handrail, Upstand wall etc.) 10.20 kN/m

OHL Mast As per actual OHL Load

Tab. 3 Superimposed Dead Load

For Elevated Station structures, superimposed dead load shall consist of,

 Superimposed dead load (Finishes) = 3.4 kN/m2

 MEP Ducts / Cladding Supported below platform = 3.0 kN/m2
 Handrail = 1 kN/m
 Platform roof = 0.60 kN/m2
 Lift load=20 kN/m2
This load will be superseded with vendor’s load while on board.
 Escalator load – For max height 10m & length about 25m following loads shall be considered,
 Top reaction= 82 kN
 Intermediate reaction= 213 kN
 Bottom Reaction= 105 kN
This load may vary when actual vendor will be on board

1.6.3 Railway Live Load

According to Employer’s Requirements, Cl. 11.6, Table A5.11, the LRV load shall not be less than half
of type RL loading, in accordance with BS 5400-2:2006.
