RECREATIONAL ACTIVITY PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
Objective:
The objective of this learning requirement is to enhance the students' practical skills in recreation and
leisure management by developing a weeklong or monthlong guest recreational activity program for a
resort. The program should align with a specific holiday or vacation celebration, taking into consideration
the available resort facilities and equipment.

Guidelines:

1. Choose a Holiday or Vacation Celebration:


 Select a specific holiday or vacation celebration (e.g., Christmas, New Year, Summer
Vacation, etc.) as the theme for the recreational activity program.
2. Identify the Resort:
 Choose a resort for which the program will be developed. Consider the location, target
audience, and the facilities available at the resort.
3. Define the Target Audience:
 Identify the target audience for the program (e.g., families, couples, adventure seekers, etc.).
4. Develop a Concept:
 Create a unique and creative concept for the recreational activity program that aligns with
the chosen holiday or vacation celebration. Consider the cultural and seasonal aspects
related to the celebration.
5. Consideration of Resort Facilities and Equipment:
 Evaluate the available resort facilities and equipment.
 Ensure that the proposed activities are feasible within the resort's infrastructure.
 Utilize the existing amenities to enhance the overall experience.
6. Create a Weeklong or Monthlong Program:
 Develop a detailed itinerary or calendar for the weeklong or monthlong program.
 Include a variety of recreational activities, entertainment options, and cultural
experiences.
7. Budgeting and Resource Allocation:
 Estimate the budget required for the program, including any additional resources or
equipment needed.
 Allocate resources efficiently to ensure a well-rounded and engaging program.
8. Consider Sustainability:
 Integrate sustainable practices into the program design.
 Ensure that activities align with eco-friendly principles and leave a minimal environmental
footprint.
9. Marketing Strategy:
 Devise a marketing strategy to promote the recreational activity program.
 Create Promotional Infographic Poster that highlights the concept and calendar of
activities
10. Risk Management:
 Identify potential risks associated with the program and develop strategies to mitigate
them.
 Consider factors such as weather conditions, safety measures, and emergency
procedures.

Students are required to submit a comprehensive document and a15 minute PowerPoint presentation that
includes the developed recreational activity program, a detailed timeline/itinerary and calendar of
activities, budget estimates, marketing strategy, and risk management plan. Additionally, students should
provide a rationale for their choices and demonstrate how the program aligns with the chosen holiday or
vacation celebration
