2.3.1 Keep interaction going in short exchanges by checking understanding of what a speaker is saying
LEARNING OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
Carry out a speaking task using the ideas discussed earlier within 15 minutes.

Ask pupils whether they like going to food festivals and why.
LESSON
DEVELOPMENT Pupils read the speaking task and details.
Pupils and teacher discuss the speaking task as a class.
In pairs, pupils brainstorm the important words / useful ideas to be employed in the
speaking task, and then share them with the class.
Pupils and teacher discuss the vocabularies/ ideas brainstormed as a class.
Using the ideas discussed, pupils carry out the speaking task with their partners.
POST-LESSON Pupils simple vocabulary questions on the “exit card”. Questions are based on today’s topic.
