Course Objectives & Outcomes

Course Objectives:

1. Differentiate between production management and industrial engineering, understanding their roles
in industry.

2. Apply quantitative tools in industrial engineering for measuring and enhancing productivity.

3. Comprehend management concepts, including theories like Taylor's scientific management and
McGregor's Theory X and Theory Y.

4. Evaluate factors influencing plant layout decisions and their impact on production efficiency.

5. Utilize work study methodologies to improve production processes and efficiency in industrial
settings.

Course Outcomes: At the end of the course, student will be able to

1. Design and conduct experiments, analyse, interpret data and synthesize valid conclusions

2. Design a system, component, or process, and synthesize solutions to achieve desired needs

3. Use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice
