What is the purpose of this Document?

RIICWD501E is a unit of competency that involves developing detailed project specifications for a
civil construction project. The purpose of the project is to enable participants to gain the
knowledge and skills required to plan and prepare detailed project specifications that meet
project requirements, standards, and specifications.

The project involves identifying and documenting project requirements, including client and
stakeholder needs, regulatory requirements, and project goals and objectives. Participants will
also need to research and analyze relevant data and information to inform the project design and
identify potential risks and constraints.

Based on this information, participants will need to develop detailed project specifications that
outline the scope of work, project schedule, resource requirements, and quality standards. They
will also need to consider environmental, health, and safety factors and ensure that the project
complies with relevant legislation and industry standards.

The project aims to develop participants' ability to effectively plan and prepare project
specifications, including developing a detailed understanding of the project requirements,
identifying, and addressing potential risks and constraints, and ensuring that the project is
delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Greetings! Welcome to this foundation design project for students. The objective of this project is
to develop a comprehensive understanding of the foundation design process by exploring the
design and construction of foundations for a site located at LOT:5203 DP:1211244, 1 Gamble
Street, Campbelltown. This project aims to provide students with practical experience in the
foundation design process, including site analysis, soil investigation, load calculation, and the
selection of appropriate foundation types.
The site, located in Campbelltown, New South Wales, is situated in an urban area and is
surrounded by several buildings and residential properties. The project requires a suitable
foundation design that can withstand the loads of the proposed structure while also ensuring the
safety and stability of the surrounding structures.
To achieve this, we will conduct a thorough investigation of the soil properties and assess the site
conditions, including the topography, drainage, and groundwater level. Based on this information,
we will determine the most suitable foundation type for the site, considering the expected loads,
construction materials, and other relevant factors.
Throughout this project, we will also explore the various design considerations and factors that
can affect the foundation's performance and durability, including the use of reinforcement,
design codes and standards, and potential environmental impacts.
We believe that this project will provide students with an opportunity to develop their technical
skills and gain practical experience in foundation design. This project will also equip students with
the knowledge and skills necessary to tackle similar projects in the future.
We hope that this project will be a valuable learning experience for all the students involved and
will help them in their future endeavours.

DATA GATHERED FROM STAKE HOLDERS:

The purpose for gathered data from stake holder is to outline the process of designing a
foundation for a proposed structure, based on information gathered from stakeholder. The
information gathered includes a soil investigation report, as well as plans and specification for the
site. This will help to design a suitable foundation for the project. Soil investigation report, plans
and specification file is attached below:

COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS TO ENSURE WORK IS FOLLOWING STATE REGULATIONS
AND STANDARDS:

Define and discuss standards of legislative and compliance requirement?

Task2 : RECOMMENDED TYPE OF FOOTING:

As you are a designer so decide a recommended footing type?

Task 3: IDENTIFYING POTENTIAL SIDE HAZARDS:

Identifying potential safety hazards before starting construction on a residential

project is crucial to ensure the safety of workers, occupants, and the public. write
some common hazards and potential risk?

Task 4: BASED ON THE INFORMATION GATHERED NOW WE HAVE TO DESIGN

OUR FOOTING:

Based on the information above now design the footing after reading soil
report?
