Romans 13:14 Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus
Christ, and do not think about how to gratifY the desires of the

James 1:21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that
= is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which
can saveyou.
1 Thessalonians 4:3-6 It is God's will that you should be

you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and
honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know

2. Our bodies belong to God and need to be pure.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Do you not know that your body is a
temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received
from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price.
Therefore honor God with your body.

3. Do not even get close to sexual impurity.

Ephesians 5:3 But among you there must not be even a hint of
sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because
these are improper for God's holy people.

Proverbs 6:27 Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his
clothes being burned?

4. Be totally pure.
Leviticus 19:2 Speak to the entire assembly ofIsrael and say to
them: "Be holy because I, the LoRDyour God, am holy."
1 Peter 1:16 For it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy."
James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and
faultlessis this: ... to keep oneselffrom being polluted by the world.

5. Do not submit to pressure sexually or in any other area.

Isaiah 51:7 Hear me, you who know what is right, you people
who have my law in your hearts: Do not fear the reproach of men
or be terrified by their insults.

6. Each individual has a choice to stay pure.

1 Peter 2:11 Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the
world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul.

James 1:14 But each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire,
he is dragged away and enticed.

7. Guard purity of the mind as well as the body.

Matthew 5:28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman
lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

8. Protecting purity in marriage begins long before the marriage.

~ Hebrews 13:4 Marriage should be honored by all, and the
marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all
the sexuallyimmoral.
~ 9. Avoid immorality by pursuing what is pure.

~ 2 Timothy 2:22 Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righ-
teousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord
out of a pure heart.

:I Colossians 3:5-10 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to

your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires
and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is
:I coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.
But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger,
rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie
= to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices
and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge
in the image of its Creator.
:I Romans 8:5-6 Those who live according to the sinful nature have
their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in
accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit
~ desires. The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled
by the Spirit is life and peace.

~ 10. Be determined and committed to stand strong with God's help.

Isaiah 50:7 Because the Sovereign LORD helps me, I will not be
disgraced. Therefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will
