PROJECT NARRATIVE REPORT

PART I: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The HAPAG sa Barangay Project is one of the government's thrust of addressing hunger and
ensuring food security in the country. It aims to strengthen the capacities of barangays
towards sustainable agriculture initiatives such as barangay community gardening.

The HAPAG sa Barangay Project aims to promote urban agriculture and food security by
encouraging residents to grow their own fruits and vegetables. The program provides
starter kits, which include seeds, fertilizers, and gardening tools, to households interested in
participating.

PART II: STATISTICAL REPORT

The Municipality of Getafe, Bohol thru the Office of the Municipal Agriculture launched the
"Halina't Magtanim ng Prutas at Gulay" (HAPAG) sa Barangay Project in response to the
issue of hunger, following the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)
Memorandum Circular No. 2023-001.

The Local Government Unit of Getafe, Bohol provided seeds and seedlings to the 24
component barangays on the implementation of the project.

Other projects, programs, and activities (PPAs) that contribute to food security include the
onsite validation if the project was implemented and giving of awards to barangays with the
most planted of vegetables during Nutrition Month Culmination last August 18, 2023 at
Ambacon Cultural Center, Poblacion, Getafe, Bohol.
PART III: PHOTO DOCUMENTATION

COMMUNITY GARDENING

The Alumar Seaweeds Farmers Association (ASFA) of Alumar, Getafe, Bohol composed of 75
members planted seaweeds and vegetables to address poverty through food security in the
locality.

The ASFA is supported by a Japanese International who provided seedling materials to its
members on the implementation of the project;
