WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 366 Series of 1996, mandates the organization
of Barangay Peace and Order Committee (BPOC) in every barangay;
WHEREAS, with the assumption to office of the newly elected barangay officials,
there is a need to reorganize all barangay special bodies specifically the Barangay
Peace and Order Committee;

Section 2. DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS. The BPOC as the implementing arm of the
City/ Municipal Peace and Order Council shall have the following duties and functions:
1. Formulate the Barangay Peace and Order and Public Safety Plan which shall
be incorporated in the Barangay Development Plan, and recommends
measure to improve or enhance peace and order and public safety in the
community;
2. Monitor and coordinate the implementation of peace and order programs and
projects at the barangay level, including anti-illegal gambling activities;
7. Maintain continuing dialogue, close coordination and rapport with the higher
POC and law enforcement units;
8. Monitor, coordinate and supervise the operation of all community based anti
crime movements within the barangay;
9. Make periodic assessment of the prevailing peace and order situation in the
barangay, and submit a report, to include an assessment and situation report
on illegal gambling, with appropriate recommendation to the higher level
POC; and
10. Perform such other function which may be assigned by the POC.
