EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 04- Series of 2021

An Order Mandating the Creation of
“BARANGAY MOLINO II BANTAY ASIN TASK FORCE”

WHEREAS, carrying the theme “Scaling up: Saktong Asin sa Iodine,” BARANGAY MOLINO II
BANTAY ASIN TASK FORCE (BMBATF) was organized in compliance with the United Nations’
International Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in coordination with the National Nutrition Council
(NNC) through the facilitation of the Department of Health;

WHEREAS, the utilization of iodized salt in Barangay Molino II continues to be a challenge.

While there is an increased awareness on iodized salt in the community, utilization remains low.

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 8172, otherwise known as an Act Promoting Salt Iodization
Nationwide (ASIN), and the related purposes commonly called “ASIN LAW” (signed on 20
December 1995) is the landmark legislation mandating the iodization of all salt for human and
animal consumption.

WHEREAS, following the passage of the law is the organization of Regional Bantay Task
Forces ensuring the supply and distribution of only adequately iodized salt in all barangays of
the region.

WHEREAS, in compliance with the ASIN LAW, Punong Barangay MICHAEL J. SAQUITAN has
come up with a list of salt producers and distributors, inspected the proper repacking, and
labeling of iodized salt by the manufacturers of iodized salt in the barangay.

WHEREAS, measures to ensure the supply and distribution of only adequately iodized salt
within BARANGAY MOLINO II was conducted;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, MICHAEL J. SAQUITAN, PUNONG BARANGAY OF BARANGAY

MOLINO II, CITY OF BACOOR, CAVITE, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do
hereby formally organize the BARANGAY MOLINO II BANTAY ASIN TASK FORCE whose
composition is the following Barangay Officials:

SEC. 1. COMPOSITION. The BARANGAY MOLINO II BANTAY ASIN TASK FORCE is

composed of the following:

SEC. 2. FUNCTIONS OF THE BARANGAY MOLINO II BANTAY ASIN TASK FORCE .

Every member of the Bantay Asin Task Force will help the assurance that salt being distributed
and sold in the market should have at least an iodine content between 30% to 70% parts per
million (ppm) to ensure exact intake of the consumers in order that the Iodine Deficiency
Disorders (IDD) of BARANGAY MOLINO II will be arrested and minimized.
The Task Force must regularly inspect that this Advocacy Campaign will be spearheaded by the
Task Force themselves. Slogans will be aired over the megaphones, trumpa, circulated in
newsletters, memorandum circulars, printed in stickers and will be placed in conspicuous
places, private vehicles of advocates, public utility vehicles, houses, business establishments
and bulletin boards of the barangay hall.
The Task Force will coordinate with the healthcare schools, midwifery and nursing students and
other related health care courses to help facilitate the campaign.
The Task Force shall monitor the health of the children from 0- 71 months old in coordination
with the Barangay Nutrition Scholars.

SEC. 3. This order shall take effect immediately and shall remain in effect unless otherwise
repealed and / or superseded by succeeding orders.
