QUIZ no.2

Quiz no. 1

Problem Solving: Show your complete solution

1. Construct a frequency distribution of ages of 52 patients with positive covid 19 at

hospital X from the given data. Using a class interval and include also the less than and
greater than cumulative frequencies, and the class marks of every class interval. Also
prepare a frequency polygon of the frequency distribution.

2. From problem no. 1 construct a histogram of the obtain age frequency distribution.

Age Interval Frequency

69-80 6
60-67 6
54-58 8
47-52 5
37-45 12
27-36 7
20-26 8

In the provided data, the age intervals are divided into 7 categories, ranging from 20 to
80 years. The first category includes ages from 20 to 26, the second bin includes ages
from 27 to 36, and so on.
The frequency column shows how many people fall into each age interval. For example,
the age interval 69-80 has a frequency of 6, which means that there are 6 people in the
dataset who are between the ages of 69 and 80.

3. The age and sex distribution among male positive covid patients which was recorded
at the hospital X is shown as follows. Construct a vertical bar graph of the age
distribution among male patients.
Age Bracket Sex

Male Female

<25 1 1
25 – 30 24 23
31 – 40 54 63
41 – 50 69 59
51 - 60 33 30
>61 11 11

Looking at the data, we see that the age brackets are divided into five categories: <25, 25-30,
31-40, 41-50, 51-60, and >61. The number of males and females in each age bracket are listed
in the corresponding columns. For example, in the age bracket <25, there is one male and one
female. In the age bracket 25-30, there are 24 males and 23 females, and so on.
By using a vertical bar graph to visualize this data, we can easily compare the number of males
and females in each age bracket. We can see that in the younger age groups, there are roughly
equal numbers of males and females.
