MANUSCRIPT OUTLINE

Question: What kind of life should I live after this?

I. Introduction

A. Attention-Getter:
What is next after this pandemic? COVID-19 has affected people all over
the world creating a huge impact in our lives. Many countries are under
considerable strain even after months of battle with the virus. The entire world
is full of uncertainty and questions.

B. Brief background of the topic/transitional statement:

It was late December of 2019 when a new virus was discovered in China
which caused severe respiratory diseases like pneumonia. The disease is
named coronavirus or now known as COVID-19. It has been spreading
between people globally and currently has no human immunity to it. Fever,
fatigue, and dry cough normally don’t scare us too much before but because
these are found to be symptoms of the disease people began to become
paranoid and terrified with these signs that even hearing a single cough
terrifies them.

C. Thesis Statement:
The outbreak of the coronavirus has made a huge impact to our society that
leaves us questioning what life would we be living after the pandemic.

II. Body

A. Main Point: This we all come to an end

1. Experts have been keeping track of the effects of the coronavirus most
especially the number of cases which can determine how much the
disease has spread and if the cases are decreasing which is what we
hope for. There are online interactive dashboards that are one way to
effectively keep track of the spread like the ones from Johns Hopkins
University and Microsoft. Both are easy to access to make it beneficial
for everyone so all could be aware of the current situation. Confirmed
cases, recoveries, deaths and other data is seen on those dashboards
that unfortunately are still increasing.
2. Plotting growth rate by the use of graphs are another alternative to
visualize the stand of the pandemic. Henry Reich from Minute Physics
made this graph allowing anyone around the world to see. With the
help of trusted sources, data is gathered and the graph can be used to
give insights about the progress of the battle between humans and the
disease making it easier to understand the growth of the spread and to
see if it is coming to an end. A number of countries are already
recovering as the graph shows decrease in the number of cases and
increase in the number of recoveries showing sign of hope and
assurance for an end to all this.

B. Main Point: Life would be different

1. As many countries had declared lockdowns and stay at home orders
people around the globe lived life differently as we are forced to study
and work at home instead of leaving the house and going to specific
places to do our duties which is what we see as our normal life but with
the pandemic, life would be different and we are faced with what we
call “new normal”. Everyone suffered one way or another, new habits
are created, people are in need of the feeling of security. We felt the
sense of helplessness with this and so we face a new life with much
more courage to reach out and have willingness to control. The crisis
opened the door to us in order to create a community that
acknowledges and connects us all on how our world should be
managed for the betterment of the coming generation.
2. I am certain that there would be new public health protocols and
possibly a vaccine for the virus to prevent another calamity like this in
the future. The crisis brought regression and paranoia that created
solidarity as we wouldn’t want this all to happen again. Even with the
large number of jobs that are lost I believe this pandemic is an
opportunity to be able to change the direction and the mindset of all.
Human life is not for isolation. Our mental health are all at stake with
how we lived for months being distant to one another so after all this
we should take the time to restore the connections we lost. The
government may have failed us in ways we couldn’t imagine but after
the experience of this crisis I myself would strive to have a more
cooperative and united society. It had changed my mindset in more
ways than one and I’ve seen a different perspective of life because of
how all our lives changed direction in a blink of an eye.

III. Conclusion

A. Summary:
COVID-19 is a disease that can be passed from person to person which
makes it dangerous as it can be easily caught and resulted to a pandemic that
affected all of us whether infected or not. We are obligated to distance
ourselves from one another that without noticing all of us began to create
human habits that we would bring even after this crisis as we adapt to the
“new normal”. Our eyes were opened to how we were being ruled by the
dysfunctional leaders of this generation and most especially in our country a
lot are not pleased with how things are being handled and so after this, All of
us should make a stand and show much more courage to speak out and reach
out to be able to have a society with responsible and united citizens and be
much more prepared so an experience like this wouldn’t happen again for the
good of the generation to come.

B. Memorable Statement:
I would like to end this speech with a quote by Chief Seattle “Humankind
has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we
do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things
connect.”
