Assignment # 1 (15%) Title: Portfolio -Phenotypic Variation in Selected Species of Plants/Animals

Guidelines:

 In your assigned groups of 3 members (see table 1.), research on different phenotypic/
morphological variations of your selected species that you could locate in Guyana.
 Take several quality photos of each target variety/species and select the best for inclusion in
your portfolio.
 Your portfolios must be documented and outlined in the following order;
1. Cover page with Institution , Faculty, Course name and number, Assignment Title, Group
members’ names and USI numbers, Name of Course Lecturer
2. Abstract of the completed “research” ( assignment)
3. Introduction based on the title with reference to specific species of interest.
General information on species, geographic distribution , utilization, local diversity etc.
4. Materials and Methodology ( materials, tools equipment, procedure step by step,)
5. Photos should be edited to indicate location/ coordinates (GPS if available), with credits to the
“photographer”. Photos should be clear and focused and arranged in good order indicating
characteristics of qualitative phenotypic variation that are highlighted. For example, avocado-
fruit colour, fruit shape, flesh colour etc.

6. Conclusion based on the title and results presented in your portfolio.
