Internet OF Things
Resume

WHAT IS THE INTERNET OF THINGS ?

The Internet of Things, or IoT, is a network of physical devices. These devices can transfer data to one another without human
intervention. IoT devices are not limited to computers or machinery. The Internet of Things can include anything with a sensor
that is assigned a unique identifier (UID). The primary goal of the IoT is to create self-reporting devices that can communicate
with each other (and users) in real time.

Indonesia aims to achieve the vision of becoming a prosperous nation with a modern economy and high-quality welfare. This
vision emphasizes the importance of quality human resources for its realization, which will lead to significant shifts in
employment and human resource management. As globalization continues, companies need to focus on cultivating skilled
human resources across managerial, socio-cultural, technical, and training aspects to drive organizational development
(Global, 2015).

The rise of the Internet of Things (IoT) is reshaping the world, connecting various objects and devices to the internet. While
IoT's reach is limited in remote regions and underdeveloped countries due to connectivity issues, the rapid advancement of
IoT technology is expected to make it a widespread and crucial tool for various applications. IoT's network of connected
physical objects offers remote control and smart features, reducing human effort and enhancing accessibility (Nahdi & Dhika,
2021).

The internet's evolution from a communication tool between people and computers to a network encompassing interactions
between people, objects, and the environment has been influenced by IoT. This expansion involves technologies like Radio
Frequency Identification (RFID) and sensors, constituting the IoT. This concept contributes to the development of smart cities,
environments, governance, branding, living, and education (Mattern & Floerkemeier, 2010).

Indonesia is embracing the fourth industrial revolution, blending physical, digital, and biological realms with technologies like
artificial intelligence, robotics, machine learning, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things. The country's roadmap toward
this revolution emphasizes the integration of technology to boost economic growth, manufacturing efficiency, and innovation
(Adha, 2020).

Productivity, viewed from individual and organizational dimensions, is a critical factor for success. Individual productivity
relates to personal characteristics and attitudes, while organizational productivity focuses on resource optimization and output
generation. Work productivity can be improved through leadership encouragement and the adoption of technological devices,
like IoT, which contribute significantly to enhancing productivity in the manufacturing sector (Arrohman & Andriani, 2022).

The Internet of Things, a network connecting physical objects to the internet, can transform industries. It offers potential
economic growth through enhanced machine utilization, innovation, and improved business models. The projected financial
impact of IoT's growth is estimated to be substantial, particularly in manufacturing and healthcare sectors (Bahrini & Qaffas,
2019).

Research indicates that the Internet of Things significantly influences work productivity and economic growth in the
manufacturing industry. Implementing IoT-based solutions can motivate employees and enhance resource utilization, thereby
maximizing work productivity. Additionally, IoT's economic potential extends to various sectors, positioning it as a catalyst for
growth and innovation (Espinoza et al., 2020).

In conclusion, Indonesia's vision for 2045 aligns with becoming a prosperous nation through a modern economy and
enhanced welfare, driven by quality human resources. The rise of the Internet of Things has the potential to revolutionize
industries, drive economic growth, and boost work productivity. The integration of IoT technologies into organizational
strategies and daily operations holds the key to unlocking these benefits.
