1 SCOPE OF WORK
This method statement for fit out works covers the following scope:
1) Supply and installation of CHB, Lintel beams and stiffener column
The aforementioned scope of works is intended for MDC The Avida Towers Makati
Southpoint.

3 WORK METHODOLOGY
3.1.1. Assure all methodologies, materials, mock-ups, and shop drawings are
approved prior start of activity
3.1.2. Secure all necessary permits prior work activity (work request, tool permits,
Etc.) thru Submittal Tool in Procore System
3.1.3. Secure material delivery inspection (MDI) form per delivery thru Forms Tool
in Procore System
3.2 Preparation
3.2.1 All construction materials, tools and equipment should be prepared and
readily available on site as well as the work force needed to complete the
project.
3.2.3 In dry and hot climate, masonry units will be wetted before laying to prevent
quick drying and shrinkage of cement based mortars.
3.2.4 Verify that all reinforcing, anchors, dowels, lintels flashing and other built-in
items are on hand, of proper size and locations established.
3.2.5 Chb must be cut with a circular power tools using the appropriate blade to
the materials being cut.

3.3 Application
3.3.2 6” CHB shall be used for partition walls and 4” shall be used for utility
chases.
3.4 Laying
3.4.1 A thorough surface preparation shall be required prior to the laying of CHB
wall partition.
3.4.2 The Project in Charge assigned will inspect the rebars placed as per plan
before placing of CHB.
3.4.3 Vertical and Horizontal bar must be provided base on the given plan, refer
to the Masonry Notes on details of spacing and schedule of rebars.
3.4.4 Lay mortar for full bed width and for a length of 3 blocks at a time and 12mm
thickness.
3.4.5 Use a line thread from end to end with a line pin.
3.4.6 Lay one block at a time and gently pressing it in the mortar bed.
3.4.8 The PIC assigned will make sure that the wall will be plumb before
plastering can proceed.
3.4.9 At the end of the day, the Foreman will see to it that the work area is clean
before retiring.
3.5 Plastering
(Surface ready to receive paint)
3.5.1 Clean the newly aid block wall from all the dirt.
3.5.4 Layout the correct and final alignment of markings on the concrete structure
and masonry wall. Layout the required thickness for the plastering.
3.5.5 Provide sack at the bottom part of the wall to avoid laitance to accumulate
on the floor.
3.5.6 The thickness of plaster shall be 20mm as specified. They shall be carried
out in three coats.

3.5.8 Plastering shall start from the top and work downwards to the floor
3.5.9 Throw mortar on the area covered by the straight edge, both vertically and
horizontally in one batch.
3.5.12. Intermittently check the surface using the plumb line and level to make up
all imperfection.
3.5.13. To prevent further cracks, use fire proof sealant on both sides for the fire
rated wall, ordinary sealant for non-fire rated wall.
3.5.14. Interior masonry wall top join details adapt. (Bulletin no. QA. 34)
3.6 Supply and installation of 1500mmW THK x 300mmH zoccallo including rebars
3.6.1 Prepare the installation form for the 150mmW THK x 300mmH height from
the given wall plan, install and ensure side support to maintain the proper
lay-out.
3.6.2 Vertical bar must be provided, 12mm diameter for embedment length
spaced at 400mm.
3.6.5 Remove the excess concrete coming out on the form. Should be taken out
by using the trowel and return to the mixing board.
3.6.6 Use mixing board (phenolic board) for mixing the concrete.

C. INSPECTIONS
Refer to WP-ITP-185 – Inspection & Test Plans for Fitout Works
Refer to WP-Forms – Inspection Checklists and Forms
8 RESPONSIBILITIES
Project-in-Charge (PIC) – the PIC will have overall responsibility for the execution of
the fitout works. He/ She shall be responsible for the control and safety of the workers,
shall arrange safe working plan, and supervise the workforce to acheive proper and
safe execution of work. Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress,
coordinating activities, resolving problems, recommending action, and ensures the
implementation of the Project Quality Plan (PQP), plans, and others as required by the
Contract
QAQC Engineer – the QAQC engineer will be responsible for the quality control of
installation of materials including documentation and inspection. He/She shall be
responsible for ensuring that works comply with drawings/specifications, materials and
methodology are properly implemented on-site and carried out as per PQP and
contract requirements.
Safety Officer – the Safety Officer will make sure that all the safety requirements are
fulfilled prior to start and during the scope of work. Ensures that the JHA and RA are
strictly implemented.
