In a statement, Private Sector Advisory Council Job Sector lead Joey Concepcion said the private

sector is giving its full support for the DepEd’s “comprehensive” reforms to address systemic

challenges in several aspects of the education sector.

The commitment were made, 2 days after Vice President Sara Duterte, who also seves as DepEd Sec.

launch the “MATATAG” agenda, which will serve the departments road map in addressing challenges

in the basic education

Manila Bulletin, April 20, 2023 - The Private Sector Council Advisory (PSAC) on Wed. expressed

support for the Department of Education’s (DepED) plan to revise the Kinder to Grade 12(K to 12)

curriculum to produce “job-

ready, active and responsible” graduate.

Under the leadership of Vice President and Secretary of Education Sara Duterte, PSAC fully

supports their efforts and and comprehensive plans for improving the Philippine basic education

system, said Concepsion, Founder of Go Negosyo and President and Chief Executive Office of RFM

Corp. “WE believe that it will bring about positive change for students educators and thecountry as a

whole, added he.

Consepcion also ensured that the PSAC is ready to work with thegovernment to improve the countrys

basic system education.

“PSAC is committed to work with the government and other partners to help achieve the

goals DepEd have sit out and to contribute to the development of a welleducated and skilled

work force,” he said


During the presentation of the Beasic Education Report (BER) 2023 at Sofitel hotel in Pasay

City on Mon, , Duterte identified the problems huonding areas various in the basic education

sector, including curriculum, in-frastracture, learners well being and teachers’ welfare.

She also launched the “MATATAG” agendum, which stands for a four side wholistic

approach to basic education imporvement.

Based on Duterte’s presentation, “MATATAG” means “MAke the curriculum relevant to produce

job-ready, active, nad responsible citezens; Take the steps to accelerate the delivery of basic education

services and facilities provision TAke good care of learners by promoting learner well-being,

inclusiveness learning and positive learning environment; and Give support for teachers to teach

better. “Duterte also seek partnership with the Commission on higher Education (CHED), the

Technical Education and Skills Authority Development (TESDA) and various industry partners to

address the issue of skill mis-match in senior high school program.

Marcos, whou graced the DepEd event said the nat’l government must confront issues haunding

the education sector with an “open mind and compassion”.

N its latest assessment, ureau of fisheries and aquatic resources said the samples collected last April
