OFFSITES CHAPTER I - General

Storage and offsites facilities for a lube oil production train present some specific characteristics
compared to the same types of equipment installed in a conventional refinery.

The storage facilities of a lube oil production train are distinguished by :

• A large quantity of tanks, due to the number of different products to be stored (up to
8 raffinates) and to batch operation

• Comparatively small tank size.

It is very practical for an Owner to have numerous small size tanks, allowing easy transfer from
one another, to facilitate adjustments and the various operating cases.

Compactness is also a characteristic of these storage tank farms.
