WASHERS FOR USE WITH CARBON STEEL FLANGES
1. SCOPE AND FIELD OF APPLICATION
This data sheet gives details necessary for ordering washers as required by DAT15.
2. REFERENCES
This data sheet makes reference to the documents listed below. Unless otherwise specified, the
latest editions of these documents, including all addenda and revisions, shall apply.

BS 3410 - Specification for metal washers for general engineering purposes

(obsolescent)

Transco specification

DAT15 - Materials for bolting and jointing for use with carbon steel flanges.

3. WASHER DETAILS
3.1 Washers shall be bright mild steel, and shall be chamfered 30 0 . Material, finish and
coating shall be in accordance with BS 3410.
3.2 Dimensions shall be to BS 3410 Table 3, except for washers detailed in 3.3.
3.3 Dimensions of washers of 1 5/8,1 7/8 and 2 1/2 in. nominal size are not covered by BS
3410, and shall be in accordance with 3.1 and Table 1 below.

Compliance with this specification does not confer immunity from prosecution for breach of
statutory or other legal obligations.
