Education Background
The young Gregorio's life is not particularly simple
because of his background of poverty. At
Tubaran, located at the narrow end of Cebu

- Recoletos, he even had to go barefoot. His
family made the decision to experience life in the
inner city after he completed high school there.
The entire family relocated to Cebu City in the
hope of finding brighter pastures.
 Greg, who worked hard, got up early in the morning
and went shoe shining and selling newspapers in the
city because, without it, he would not be able to attend
COLLEGE DEGREE college as his parents had no money to pay for it. In
1960, he began studying engineering at the same
university. Because he couldn't afford to buy longer
University of 1965 Board pants, he was the only engineering student wearing

Recoletos shorts, making his appearance particularly striking.
Greg was a young boy, but his poverty did not prevent
him from dreaming. Despite his tremendous effort, he
managed to complete his degree and pass the Board
Exam in 1965.

He was a member of the Provincial Board in Cebu
City, where he expressed worry about the
malnutrition of the pigs raised there. He delved into
research on his own and carried out tests with
nothing more than a few pots and pans and a little
tank. His perseverance eventually resulted in the
creation of "LactoPAFI Probiotic Bacteria," a food
supplement that would kill off the harmful bacteria in
livestock.
The probiotic bacteria created by Engineer Sanchez
later won widespread acclaim as a superior bacterial
strain for its capacity to replenish the body's
beneficial microorganisms. This inspired him to
broaden his horizons and create another health
beverage (LactoVitale) as well as personal care
items like soaps, shampoos, and toothpastes that use
LactoPAFI as a key ingredient. His LactoPAFI
products are presently exported to the U.S., Hong
Kong, Australia, New Zealand, France, Norway, and
France. Although receiving local recognition for the
product's excellence from several award awarding
authorities, the US FDA approved the product in
2005.

Contribution
Today, Engineer Greg is not only a reputable politician but is also a very established world entrepreneur. From
walking barefooted just to reach the school he can buy any luxury car he wants. He also has received
numerous awards for his works including Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY) of the Philippines in
2005, Awardee-Chosen Socially Responsible Entrepreneurship of the Year in 2006 and the Most Outstanding
Alumni of University of San Jose – Recoletos in 2003. His products has also been awarded. Lactovitale is 2004
Asia-Pacific Awardee as Outstanding Health Drink of the elite Asia-Pacific Awards Committee of the National
Consumer Affair Foundation, 2004 National Consumers Quality Awardee as Top Food Supplement & Health
