You might want to get a throat culture. Though it is

possible the sore throat is minor, stemming from
post nasal drip, it is also possible it could be strep
throat. If it is a virus, it will likely go away on its own.
If it is bacterial and your body is unable to cure
itself, without having received antibiotics, strep
throat can become rheumatic fever, affecting your
heart.

If the sore throat seems minor, what you are doing,

or warm tea with honey and lemon or sucking
candies can all help. Gargeling with salt water can
also help. If the sore throat is really uncomfortable,
especially if you have a fever, please get it checked
out. A throat culture is a very simple test where the
dr will swab your throat and will let you know if you
have strep and need antibiotics.

To help soothe a sore throat I like to warm up some

milk (i use almond milk but any if fine), and mix in
honey. It is really good and helps soothe your throat

would let it cool down a bit. Nobody likes to drink
