ABOUT US
As a public Technical Voca onal Educa on and Training
(TVET) provider, Elangeni TVET College strives to be a self-
reliant TVET ins tu on that provides meaningful
educa on and training, equipping students with
qualifica ons and skills to start out on their chosen
career path. At Elangeni TVET College, support is given to
lifelong learning and students are taught by trained
facilitators, assessors and moderators to ensure quality
delivery in an assortment of subject fields. The
T.J Aryetey programmes offered are customised and responsive to
Rector / Principal the needs of learners and industry. The careers they
encourage are essen al for the economic upli ment of the South African economy.

Elangeni TVET College under the leadership of Ms. TJ Aryetey (Rector), is an ISO-9001
accredited organiza on. It has several interna onal partnerships with different countries,
which includes Bri sh Council [UK] amongst others, and Nuffic [Netherlands]. The College
is also part of USA learner exchange program in Agriculture, working with the US embassy.
Elangeni TVET College has also won interna onal Awards for being the best African
partner in the Bri sh Council “Skills for Employability Project”. The College's vision for the
4th Industrial Revolu on (4IR) is to equip its students to have the necessary skills and
knowledge, to be able to add value to their communi es as well as the global markets.

Elangeni TVET College (previously known as Sivananda FET College) came about a er the
merger of three previous public technical colleges in 2002: Pinetown, Sivananda
(KwaMashu) and Ntuzuma Technical College. The College has grown with the addi on of
new campuses at Qadi (Bothas's Hill), Ndwedwe, KwaDabeka, Inanda and Mpumalanga.

ETVET's Northern based campuses fall into the Inanda, Ntuzuma, KwaMashu (INK) Area
Based Management and Development area. With almost half a million residents on 9423
hectares, it cons tutes one of the largest conglomera ons of low income residen al
areas in the whole of South Africa.

With the excep on of Pinetown campus, all other campuses fall into peri-urban areas
characterized by: unemployment that is above the na onal average, high illiteracy rates,
single parent (female) families, large segment of the popula on in the 18 -30-year
category and child headed families. Pinetown campus is situated in an urban area, but
a racts students from various surrounding communi es. A ladies' hostel is available on
Pinetown Campus. Please enquire with the campus for more details.

A TVET Voca onal programme will equip you for successful career in an industry that has
a great need for prac cal skills, experience and knowledge. ETVET College plays a key role
in the economic empowerment of people by providing relevant educa on and training
with eight campuses throughout Durban. Elangeni TVET College provides integrated
theore cal and prac cal experience to the community. Make the right choice now and

Student Support Services are available to our students. These include: Academic
Support, Tutorials, Bursary Assistance, Career Guidance, Counselling and Life-skills
programmes. Please contact your Campus Student Liaison Officer (SLO) for assistance.

Students may pre-register online at the end of the year for the following academic year
during the set enrolment period. Students are urged to enroll online as early as possible
to secure their posi on with the College. Enrolment forms must be accompanied by
proof of payment of the non-refundable registra on fee (and the relevant minimum
deposit as s pulated) or reference for NSFAS personally funded students.

Cash is not accepted on the premises. Please register online using cer fied copies of your
ID and highest grade report passed. Course fees are payable strictly in advance. All
courses are subject to student numbers.

The above courses have an exit level at the end of each year but the students may be enrolled for the
Diploma Level of each course. To qualify for the Diploma Level, all the credits for the Cer ficates Level must
have been completed and the student deemed competent. All relevant Cer ficate Level in-service training
must have been completed. In-service training for each level contributes to approximately 20 - 40 credits per
programme and has to be completed before any cer ficate is to be expected. Students are expected to do
addi onal research and must have the ability to use the internet.
