RF Engineer(GSM/GPRS/EDGE)

Daily monitoring Key Performance Indicator of network based on hourly/daily counters. Troubleshooting and optimizing network, change of parameters in order to improve the major KPIs, CSSR,DCR & MPD. Monitor KPI parameters like SD and TCH Drop, SD and TCH Assignment, HOSR and DLQ and optimize the network to meet these parameters to threshold level. Parameter tuning for improved KPIs, AMR Handover Parameters, Handover Control Parameters, Power Control Parameters, Cell Reselection Parameters, Neighbour Optimization etc. Performing re-homing activities, neighbors MARs creation and external LAC plan updating. Post-processing drive test data using Mapinfo, TEMS Investigation & Actix in order to improve the Network Coverage and Quality. Analyzing ND reports of Nokia system (like 111, 196, 232, 208, 153, and 74). Hard and Soft optimization, escalation of H/W issues to the O&M. Proposing Physical Redesigns using ASSET Prediction and DT logs (HBA reduction, E/M tilt, Azimuth, antenna type change) . Performing RF technical audit for WARID USF(Universal Service Fund) sites in the areas of D.G.Khan. Using TEMS 8.0.4 for performing drivetests and using MAPInfo 8.5 and for reporting purposes. Checking coverage & quality issues and coordinating with Vendor and Operator to resolve issues within due date of Milestone submission.
Drive testing using TEMS 8.0.3 to analyze and troubleshoot performance issues Customer complaint resolution Doing Pre cluster drives and evaluating different problems like drop calls, handover failures, quality issues. Benchmarking of mega cities like Lahore, Faisalabad and Multan (for comparison of U-fone with other operators), made the reports for benchmarking for customer. Re homing for U-fone.

PROJECTS:

Full Rate Traffic Share: increase in full rate traffic was required in the region; in order to achieve the given
targets HR-FR setting and TCH timeslots were adjusted. DCS Traffic Shift Project: Due to better quality of DCS band traffic shifting from 900 to 1800 was required, in order to achieve the desired KPIs parameter tuning and physical redesign were conducted. Power control Project: In order to reduce noise floor of Islamabad City in busy hours, POC parameters tuning was performed.
