(Responsibilities as a SDH/DWDM Field Operations and Maintenance then became a team dispatcher to
assign the routine tasks to field engineers for faults trouble handling, clearing/ to perform TCN & MDT’s
per their scheduled MW’s.

• Ensured Tests for end to end service availability of 2MB, STM-N (Electrical & Optical) circuits by
using/performing BERT/Analyzer tests by MC Field technicians, as per CUSTOMER DEMAND.
• Performing of Maintenance down Times and Threatening Conditions regarding SDH
Equipment/Card failures or to clear the span loss in FO Cables passing/terminating in b/w LD
Sites.
• End to End dark fiber testing and optical power measurements at required wavelengths.
• Handover/ takeover process of the sites between Detasad and Different Vendors.
• Configuration and Testing of SNCP/MSP/MS-Spring Rings in the Network.
• Implementing Work-orders and cross connection plan over the on-air network.

outages in the network.

Responsible for the O&M (Testing & troubleshooting) of following SDH/DWDM/IPMPLS systems.
Alcatel Lucent: ISM2000, SLM2000, AM1+, ADM-4/1, ADM-16, Lambda Unite 1675, ADMU, AMU.
Wave Star DACS 4/4/1 & DWDM (OLS– 80G& 400 G).
Huawei Optix 9500, Optix 3500, Optix 2500, Optix 1500, BWS-1600G.
Optix Metro 1050+, OSN1500, OSN9500, OSN3500, OSN 2500 & OSN8800.
Siemens Surpass-hiT Series-7500, 7300, 7070, 7060, 7030 And Siemens SMA Series (SMA1/4,
SMA16) SLD 16, SLR16, SL 64, WLD & SXA.
Fault diagnostics and rectification of transmission media.
Fault localization using hardware/Software loop backs & analysis at Electrical/Optical interfaces
i.e.; E-1, E-3, E-4, STM-1/4/16/64.
Isolation of fault section and rectification of the troubles (i.e. Electrical or Optical & equipment’s
hardware failures).
Attend Cable Cuts (Optical Fiber) along with MC Cable team and make direct coordination with the
third parties (issues the warning letters)
Responsible to monitor the installations, configurations, testing commissioning, of SDH, DWDM
backbone Optical Fiber Network of STC. In order to carried out Preliminary Acceptance Tests
(PAT’s) along with multi vendors.
Preparation of Inventory sheets for the performed PAT’s and Job orders to submit to the
immediate MC Supervisor or Secretary office.
Execution of Preventive Maintenance Routines (PMR), Maintenance Down Times (MDT), Backup
Savings & Routine Maintenance Tasks.
Attend MDT’s (Maintenance down Times) to resolve the issues permanently if it repeats twice or
any complication caused (like Permanent Splicing of Optical Fiber Cable, to change the faulty
module in the equipments with special procedure)
To attend the sites to make ensure the (STC) that Preventive Maintenance Routine (Monthly,
Quarterly & Annually) are done with satisfactory.
Documentation & Record Keeping of Site Data, MOP’s, Testing Protocols, Manuals & Maintenance
work Reports.
Coordination with TNOC & Vendors/Contactors.
Use of testing instruments, Optical Power meter, Optical Power sources, BERT, SDH/IP
ANALYZER, Fixed & Adjustable Attenuators, and Cleaning Swabs.
Responsible for Login the NE’s through Local Craft Terminal (In case Association lost or controller
configurations or X-Connect are if needed)
Planning of network expansion and efficient usage based on demand of services.
Traffic rerouting and diversity arrangements implementation during media breakdown.
Co-ordination or mailing follows up with the vendor of project implementation and up-gradations.
