ALL BED STUDENTS

Dear student

The following applies to the registration of BEd Teaching Practice modules in 2024:

 No student will be permitted to conduct concurrent Teaching Practice. The required

stipulated Teaching Practice module days (25 days per module) must be adhered to.
 It is not possible to complete four (4) Teaching Practice modules in one year, as the number
of school days is not sufficient to meet the Teaching Practice requirements.
 BEd Students will have to provide evidence of a Teaching practice submission, BEFORE the
next Teaching practice can begin.
 Any BEd student that can complete in 2024, that has not yet done any Teaching Practice
modules, will be permitted to register for ONLY (2) Teaching Practice modules in 2024 and
two (2) in 2025.
 Thus, the MAXIMUM number of Teaching Practice modules that Final Year BEd students may
register for in 2024 is TWO (2).
 For the phasing out BEds (02593, 02607, 02615) ONLY, concession to register for three (3) TP
modules is possible in 2024. Should a student have four (4) TP modules outstanding, they
will be migrated to the relevant new BEds to complete.
 All other BEd students may only register one (1) Teaching Practice module per annum.
 BEd students that are not in their final year, with more than one Teaching Practice module
registered, must cancel the additional Teaching Practice modules. Any additional Teaching
practice modules will be removed from the student’s registration.
 Please familiarise yourself with the published rules of the qualification, stating: five (5)
weeks practical (i.e one Teaching practice module) is required every year and three (3) weeks
must be offered consecutively.
