Answer: Popular culture “is a category of cultural items (songs, paintings, performances,
etc.) that are distinguished by their creation and use in the social sciences. It can be
classified into three groups:
Folk culture is created by frequently unidentified individuals for a large audience. This
category frequently includes folk dances, well-known jokes, and other cultural items passed
down orally.
For an elite audience, Elite culture is often produced by well-known creators. This includes a
lot of chamber music and portraiture, for instance.
Therefore, popular culture is often created for a large audience by well-known creators. Pop
culture, which includes things like cheap kung fu movies and pop music, is what we think of
as a modern innovation. However, the idea goes way back. For example, published
broadsheets containing popular ballads and poems, made cheaply for maximum distribution
(and often performed by small numbers of literate people for their illiterate brethren) go
back to the dawn of printing, and by this definition, things like statuary in churches and
religious icons, produced to inspire and educate the masses, are popular culture as well.

Assessment: Write a reflective essay on the most influential critique on culture in the
Philippine context.
The Philippines is made more beautiful by and reflects our Filipino culture. If we look closely
and pay attention, Filipino culture also serves as a reflection of the country's beauty, making
it possible to trace the rich history of the Philippines beyond its well-known museums.
The Philippines is genuinely incredibly rich in traditions, whether they come from Tagalog
cultures, Kapampangan cultures, or Visayan civilizations. Today, several cultures in the
Philippines are still very much present. Due to the many Filipino traditions, food is a
significant part of our culture and establishment and is constantly present. Filipinos are
happy naturally, even when things are difficult. Filipinos can still laugh and smile. Because of
this good tradition of the Filipinos that still exists up until now, like having our own festival
or celebration, that is a big part of Philippine culture. Every dish is bursting with flavor
during the fiesta in my community, all of which are quite delectable because each of us can
be proud of our own practices. And because of the good manners, outsiders regard Filipinos
as the most welcoming locals. I can say that the importance of culture is very important to
Filipinos.
Our cultural legacy must be protected because it upholds our identity as a people. Culture
and its heritage serve to define a people's national identity by reflecting and shaping values,
beliefs, and aspirations.
