Workday Op onal Absence Request Guide

Reques ng Op onal Holidays:

Step 1: Login to Workday and select “Absence” from the Apps list.
Step 2: Click on “Request Absence”

Step 3: Select balance as of 1 January 2024 if performing this ac vity on or before 1 January 2024. Else
choose current date.

Step 4: On the calendar, select the date of absence chosen from the op onal holiday list and click on

bu on at the le bo om of the page.


Repeat the above step for choosing the second and / or third op onal holiday.

Step 5: Select “Op onal Holiday” from the list and click on “Next”.

Step 5: Click on submit (Hours are not editable for Op onal Holiday)
Note: If date of absence selected is not from op onal holiday list, following error will be displayed.

Canceling Op onal Holiday:

Op onal holidays once booked, can be cancelled with supervisor approval.

However, past holidays can only be cancelled up to 90 days back. There is no such restric on for future
dated approved holidays.

It is a recommended prac ce to consult with your supervisor before modifying or canceling approved
holidays.

Step 1: Login to Workday and follow Step1 in “Reques ng Absence” above.

Step 2: Click on “Correct My Absence”.


Step 3: On the calendar, select the holiday to be cancelled.

Step 4: Click “Submit” for supervisor approval.
