Learning Objectives:

What I Need to Do

This Learning activity sheets deals with Personal Hygiene,


preparation of clothing according to GMP and workplace procedure and
personal movement around the workplace that complies with the entry and
exit procedure.

Gearing Up

Proper grooming and a professional appearance are important to gain


respect in the workplace. The way you look and carry yourself creates an
impression on the people you work alongside. Both men and women should
take care of and look after themselves. High standard of personal hygiene
firstly means healthy food handler. It also means having clean habits and
clean hands.

What I Need to Remember

1. Personnel hygiene concerns the following:


 Freedom from any diseases
 Wearing of clean washable garments
 Observing sanitary habits and clean hands
2. A regular surveillance of all employees who are already
working with food should be conducted in order to check for
signs of illness, infection, and other unhealthy conditions.
3. A medical checkup should be required for every employee
annually.
