GROUPS ASSEMBLY: IMAGE INTENSIFIER TUBE AND COLLIMATOR

To perform this operation correctly, act as follow:

Verify that each handle and foot brake is well locked.

ATTENTION, COLLISION DANGER

Never loosen handles during the following operation. In case, get ready to support
any kind of weight, as the C arm could reach a speed dangerous for persons, and
harmful for components.

Loosen the central handle very carefully, while

supporting the arm. Move the arm as show in the
picture, and lock the handle properly.
Withdraw the arm holder totally, in order to have the
barycentre as safe and withdrawn as possible.

INTENSIFIER GROUP ASSEMBLY

WARNING
Check again that each handle is well locked, and the
pedal brake well positioned

Take the intensifier group out from the box carefully.

Position it on a table, protecting it with a cloth and, in
order to withdraw the upper cope (cone stub) at the
top. Clean it from package residues

Take the cope (cone stub) out, by unscrewing the

washer. Take the covercables sheet out from the
intensifier group support, by unscrewing the four
screws.

Take the covercables sheet out from the intensifier

group support, by unscrewing the four screws.

Take the six thumbscrews out from the intensifier

group base.

Keep them carefully close, as they are necessary for

the next operation.

WARNING The following operation needs a two technicians intervention. Being a

quite complex phase it has to be read and comprehended carefully.

1. Approach the thumbscrews well.

2. Grip the thumbscrews well.
3. Let the cables pass through the plate hole.

Insert the plastic plugs which cover the hexagonal wrenches.

Insert the connector with the red gate in correspondence of

the red gate of the tube intensifier.
After passing the CCD camera connector through the hole, let
it carefully pass between U bolt lower space and CCD camera.

Connect the two CCD camera connectors.

Fix the CCD camera connectors with the screws previously
positioned.

By means of a lever washer, a flexible washer and a nut,

ensure the cable lead on the threaded pivot of the intensifier
group.

Fix the cables by two bands.

Assembly the little case, and fix it by the four lever washers
and screws as shown in the picture.

Re-assembly the cover cable sheet and lock the four

thumbscrews well.

Assembly the cope by means of a washer and the screw

previously taken off.

MONOBLOC GROUP ASSEMBLY

WARNING Before assembling the monobloc group,
make sure that each screw of the intensifier group is
well locked, and that handles are in block position.

Take the collimator-monobloc group out from the

box very carefully.

Position it carefully on a table, protecting it with a

cloth, and take package residues off.

Take the black cope which covers the collimator off,

by unscrewing the three screws.

WARNING The following operation needs a two technicians intervention. Being

a complex operation it has to be carefully read and well comprehended before
its performing.

This operation needs a two technicians intervention. One has to

support the collimator-monobloc group near its own location, the
second has to let the cables pass one by one very carefully.
Once all the cables have passed, place the collimator-monobloc
group, on the supporting plate.

Fix the group by the three hexagonal wrenches, lever washers

and flexible washers. The hexagonal wrenches have not to be
completely locked, as they are necessary for the aligning
adjustment with the intensifier and collimator-monobloc, as
described in the following paragraphs.

Villa Sistemi Medicali ARCOVIS 2000 R - Installation - 8

Connect the cables to the collimator-monobloc group.

(See Chapter Electrical Drawing for the monobloc topographic
board)
Once this operation has been completed, block cables by using
bands.

Insert the connector of the collimator, and fix the collimator

cable to the group by using belts.

Re-assemble the black cope of the collimator, by using the three

screws as shown in the picture.

ATTENTION DANGER OF X-RAY RADIATION

Before x-ray exposure, activate each x-ray protection

Connect the unit to the mains.

(See User’s Manual)

Switch the unit on and set 40KV – 0.2mA in manual fluoroscopy.

(See User’s Manual)
1. Control fluoroscopy.
2. Close the iris diaphragm and parallel shutters of the collimator..
3. The situation shown in the central picture has to be displayed on the monitor.

In case the images are different from

the ones in the picture, it’s necessary
to adjust the collimator-monobloc
group, operating on its own fixing
screws, and its own fixing screws, and
repeat the test twice.

Once the image is proper, make sure

that the monobloc-collimator group
screws are well locked.

Assemble the covering cases on the

monobloc-collimator group using the
three screws as described in the
picture.

SETUP
POWER SUPPLY
Before inserting the supply plug into the mains, perform the following checks:
• verify that the plug is supplied with the earth connection:
• verify that the mains voltage corresponds to the one of the unit.

IF ALL THESE CONDITIONS ARE NOT VERIFIED AND NOT CERTAIN, DO NOT CONNECT THE
SUPPLY PLUG TO THE MAINS.

During the purchase order procedure, it is already specified whether the unit has to operate either at 230V or
115V, therefore, no modification is required during the installation phase. For any further verification, please
refer to the electrical drawings and to the set up tables.

ATTENTION: For any check, the intervention of qualified and authorized personnel is
required.

TUBE SETTING IN
It’s necessary to proceed with the X-RAY TUBE SETTING IN before using the unit for the very first time and
after any long period of non-use (3 months or more).

To warm up, carefully follow the following procedure:

1. Set the unit in manual fluoroscopy (see users’ manual)
2. Perform the exposures described here below , in the sequence and time frames indicated in the table.

Functioning parameters exposure time temporal

frequency
kV mA ON time OFF time
60 3 2.5' 2.5' 5 times
80 2 2.5' 2.5' 3 times
100 1 1' 1' 2 times

ATTENTION:
If during this procedure, any discrepancies or anomalies are detected, it’s necessary
to interrupt it for at least half an hour and start again from the beginning.
