INTRODUCTION

Chicken Cottage International was established in 1994 as a partnership and incorporated in


February 2001. The first Chicken Cottage store was opened in 1994 in Wembley, North West
London and it was here that the Chicken Cottage concept began to take shape. Chicken
Cottage International is a UK-based fast food chain. The company is the master franchisor
and owner of the "Chicken Cottage" brand. Its taste is modeled on a blend of the Indian
Subcontinent and Southern United States flavour using halal ingredients. It currently
operates through 115 outlets in the UK. Chicken Cottage is one of the fastest growing British
franchise opportunities. Our specialty menu was devised to be a bit different from the
traditional fast food. Our food is Fresh, Appetizing, Halal, highly Convenient and Affordable.
It has proved to be a rapid success with the growth of multiple restaurants around the
country and overseas. The company’s global presence has been firmly established and it has
demonstrated the ability to possess the organizational strength for further growth, proving
time and time over that it not only has a concept that can be loved by all but also had the
organizational maturity and strength to meet the challenges that global expansion provides.
In February 2014, TI Global Food Holdings Ltd, a subsidiary of Terengganu Incorporated
Sdn Bhd (Terengganu Inc), which is the main investment arm of the State of Terengganu,
Malaysia, acquired a 70% stake in the company. The remaining 30% was at that point
owned by Ri-Yaz Global Food Brands Inc, a subsidiary of Ri-Yaz Holdings, whose main
focuses include hospitality, franchise business & development. Chicken Cottage is more than
just a quick service restaurant. It is where customers will go out of their way to bring their
family for good old fashioned family time while enjoying the quality of service, atmosphere
and above all, the taste of our food. Chicken Cottage is unlike any other quick service
restaurants where it mixes values with quality and speedy service that comes with care.
Business Process

The business process that can compared between “Chicken Cottage and Marry Brown” are
peak hour. At the Chicken Cottage the peak hour was at lunch and dinner after 7 pm. This is
because at that time many family come to the Chicken Cottage and most of them order
family dine in on the menu. Chicken Cottage operation time is from 10 am to 11 pm on
Mondays to Thursdays and will be closed at Friday on 12 pm. until 2.30 pm. The process of
the operation at Chicken Cottage is different than operation at Marry brown which is the
process that they serve, made and preparation of each food on the menu. Chicken Cottage
presents you all the flavors of chicken in all its glory so that everyone has some dish or the
other to take a mouthful. The customers that came to the Chicken Cottage will order the
flavour of chicken that they like and their favourite. The chicken to be served to the
customers takes 3 minutes after 1 minute of order. After the food have been ready to serve
and the customers will pay at the cashier. This is only takes 4 minutes to make the order.
Other than that, supplier sometimes delay the supply for a few hours. Other than that,
sometimes the stock that arrived is not enough so they will change at the next delivery.
Besides that, the most popular menu are Chicken Steak meal and BBQ Chicken Wings
because both of these menus get very high demand from the customers.
