Research Design

The researchers will be utilizing a non-experimental correlational design for their

study, which aims to describe students with a specific characteristic. This can be achieved

through either selecting participants consecutively or selectively. Notably, there will not be a

control group involved in this research design, as it does not require variable manipulation.

The primary objective of this study is to examine the correlation between leadership and

gender stereotypes, hence why a non-experimental approach is appropriate.

To gather data for this study, the researchers have decided to use quantitative research

methods such as individual or group surveys. This type of research method is ideal in

understanding the experiences and perspectives of both students and leaders. By employing a

quantitative design, participants are given the opportunity to express themselves confidently

and authentically using their own words.

Overall, this study seeks to explore the relationship between leadership and gender

stereotypes among students with a particular characteristic using a non-experimental

correlational design that employs quantitative research methods such as individual or group

surveys. By doing so, it provides valuable insights into the experiences and perspectives of

both students and leaders while maintaining high levels of credibility and validity.

Respondent of the Study

The researchers selected a sample of 60 respondents for this quantitative study,

focusing on the influence of gender stereotypes on leadership skills among students at STI

College Lipa. The selection of respondents was carried out through stratified random

sampling, where strata were formed based on the academic programs offered at the college,

including fifteen (15) Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) students, fifteen (15)
Accountancy Business Management (ABM) students, fifteen (15) Science, Technology,

Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) students, and fifteen (15) Mobile App & Web

Development (MAWD) students. Within each stratum, respondents were randomly chosen to

ensure a representative mix of students from different programs. All participants were

currently enrolled at STI College Lipa and were in their third or fourth year of study. They

willingly participated in the study, providing data through a structured survey questionnaire

designed to evaluate their perceptions of gender stereotypes and self-reported leadership

skills.

Data Gathering Instrument

The researchers in this study employed a specific sample technique known as the

"Probability Sampling Method" to ensure that their findings would be representative of the

entire population. This approach involved randomly selecting individuals from the participant

group, which allowed for robust statistical conclusions to be drawn about the entire group.

The primary goal of this research was to analyze the influence of gender stereotypes on

leadership skills, and to achieve this objective, the researchers formulated questionnaires as

their primary tool for data collection. In total, they designed fifteen (15) questionnaires with

set ratings that participants could respond to using a structured scale ranging from 1-4. A

rating of (4) indicates disagreement, (3) strongly disagrees, (2) agrees, and (1) strongly

agrees. By employing this sampling method and questionnaire design, the researchers aim to

gather comprehensive data regarding gender stereotypes and their impact on leadership skills.

The use of probability sampling ensures that the results obtained are generalize to a larger

population beyond just those who participated in the study. Furthermore, by using structured

questionnaires with clear ratings categories, the researchers can collect precise information on
how participants perceive gender stereotypes and their relationship with leadership skills.

Overall, this research is expected to provide valuable insights into how gender stereotypes

affect leadership skills and what can be done to mitigate these negative effects.
